HoopsHype: Atlanta Hawks

Kawhi Leonard has been cleared to participate fully in training camp next week but the LA Clippers will proceed with “step-by-step” caution. John Wall nearly had to have foot amputated

HoopsHype: Atlanta Hawks

John Wall: For me, it all happened really fast. In the span of three years, I went from being on top of the world to losing damn near everything I ever cared about. In 2017, I’m jumping up on the announcer’s table in D.C. after forcing Game 7 against Boston, and I’m the king of the city. I’m getting a max extension, thinking I’m a Wizard for life. A year later, I tore my Achilles and lost the only sanctuary I’ve ever known — the game of basketball. I ended up with such a bad infection from the... Читать дальше...

Ben Simmons on if he regrets passing up dunk in playoffs: No, because I wouldn't be here

HoopsHype: Atlanta Hawks

Ben Simmons on if he wishes if he’d gone up to dunk that ball over Trae Young against the Hawks in the playoffs: No, because I wouldn’t be here. I don’t think you just say ‘yeah, I wish I went up and dunked the ball.’ Like that was the because that was the whole game. Like, come on. No, I think if I didn’t go through what I’ve gone through the last year or year and a half done, I wouldn’t be where I’m at now. And I think I needed to go through all that and have those experiences to be where I’m at. Читать дальше...

Giannis Antetokounmpo: 'I'm not just Greek, I'm Nigerian'

HoopsHype: Atlanta Hawks

In a recent interview with Malika Andrews on ESPN’s NBA Today, Giannis did reveal, though, that he does have some reservations about the moniker. It’s not that he gets offended by the term “freak,” but it actually has a lot to do with his roots: “I’ve heard it so many times,” Giannis said. “It doesn’t bother me, but people don’t call me the Nigerian Freak. They all call me the Greek Freak. This is a time for you to understand that I’m both. I’m not just Greek, I’m Nigerian. “

HoopsHype: Atlanta Hawks

In a podcast hosted by The Athletic’s Tim Kawakami, Kerr revealed that he and GM Bob Myers were perplexed by the rumblings about Jonathan Kuminga’s alleged behavior. “I know there was that weird report that came out, I think Stephen A. Smith said something about [Kuminga], and honestly, Bob [Myers] and I when that came out, called each other and asked each other ‘where did that come from?’” Kerr said. “Because it made no sense, because JK’s been great, he’s done everything we’ve asked of him, he’s worked hard, I enjoy coaching him.
