As @IanBegley noted&we’ve corroborated, Nets were contacted regarding Herro (& have interest) as part of a 3-team Heat/Blazers/Nets permutation to get Lillard to Miami. As @BobbyMarks42 noted, that would work with Simmons, 5 1sts to Blazers. But Portland obviously could seek more – 2:17 PM

As our Sam Amick reported over the weekend, league sources indicate the Blazers are entertaining offers from around the league to seek the best possible deal for them, though there remains a strong belief a deal to Miami remains the most likely outcome. Damian Lillard’s openness with his preference is expected to keep other teams at bay without assurance that Lillard would be happy to join them. -via The Athletic / July 3, 2023

So if the Blazers attempt to trade Lillard to a team other than Miami, a potential standoff looms. Though Lillard does not have a no-trade clause, his mind-set — at this time — is to remain resolute and adamant that Miami is the only place he wants to play.
