The Virtual Terrace • Red Star Belgrade on BBC World News

Rugby League Supporters Association Online

Just caught this while watching in Bangkok.

The entry of Belgrade Red Star into the Challenge Cup got into the World Sports section of BBC World News. It was the last story on this program, after the Australian Open tennis, Asia Cup football, and international cricket. But it is the finale and a feel good story.

The Rugby League Challenge Cup is referred to as the world's oldest competition. "History will be made" says the BBC Sports woman compere.

The segment talks about Red Star Belgrade football club. Читать дальше...

I noticed it while watching the game and thought he'd be in a bit of trouble for it. I can understand being fired up but he was clearly making unnecessary contact with the ref, and the fact that it was during a coming together between him and Hastings was hardly going to mitigate the circumstances.
Still, it probably means we start the season with Tommy at 7, which was good enough for a Grand Final win and he's defensively stronger than Sammut anyway.

Hull KR • Re: Goal Kicker

Rugby League Supporters Association Online

Hey Beverley Red - Rovers have a stack of Sunday games this year guaranteed. It's a major improvement on last year and so I'd say get yourself a pass and help get the record sales up to new levels.

We have our best team for a while and I for one welcome not waiting an age while teams take forever taking goal line drop outs. It's got to be a positive.

Cracking start to the season with the derby so hope you can make it.

True story.

Not too sure how you work that one but ok and still going about the semi final win which led to more Grand Final embarrassment I see.

Just seen the Toronto squad numbers announced and there is no Mason Caton-Brown there. Anyone know if he's playing anywhere next season?

Huddersfield Giants - claretandgold.co.uk • injury list 2019

Rugby League Supporters Association Online

Can't believe that yet again we are going into the campaign without our two best backs. Can see another very bad start to the season coming sadly. Untried halfback combo and two best/most senior backs on the sidelines. Hope to be proved wrong though. We don't get much luck with fixtures either. It's thought that with a small squad Salford will struggle once they pick up a few injuries. I'm sure they will be fine for game 1 though!

I hope it's only in case of extreme emergencies though. I can't see us using it with the size of squad we have plus second team.

The HGSA are pleased to announce that in conjunction with the Welcome centre in Huddersfield, we are going to be hosting a food bank donation point at the Legends bar for our first game with Salford Red Devils on Friday 1st February.
It is something we've looked at doing for a while and the welcome centre happily agreed to accept any donations we receive.

Who will Sheens pick? Positions 1 to 5 look tricky to call? Think the pack just about picks itself. Hilariously Connor could be banned? Been laughing all day on hearing that.Appeal put in but would be surprised if succeeds as they are cracking down on abuse of refs. If Lam wins SL with the squad we have going into next year which certainly on paper looks weaker than Wire, Saints at the very least then I would have no issue with him staying on as he will have vastly overachieved in my opinion.

I don’t realistically however buy into this conspiracy regarding Edwards and I firmly believe 100% Edwards will be head coach at Wigan in 2020.

I would still expect Wigan to be challenging for a top four spot, then it's all on the day. Читать дальше...

For me friendlies are about match fitness, combinations and most importantly getting through them injury free.

If the most important thing was getting through them injury free the best thing would be not to play them at all.

Are you saying that this ad is reaching people outside of dedicated RL fans or is it a little prom video for those who were there last season.
Our sport desperately needs exposure beyond "the faithful" and "we" should be creating positive exposure at National level, something that doesn't appear to be the case here.

How many views has it actually had ?

We need to be grapping peoples attention and not putting out "small time" videos. Читать дальше...

The Virtual Terrace • Championship Predictions.

Rugby League Supporters Association Online

Toronto - The strongest set up by far but vulnerable at play off time.
Toulouse - Will be stronger for the experience of last year and could easily go one better
Fax - Well used to playing consistently at a decent level but very much dependent on their playmakers staying fit.
Widnes - A bit of an unknown quantity - they looked awful in the playoffs last year - will they steady the ship or go into freefall?
Bradford - Seem to have plenty of depth but a conservative gameplan and a lack... Читать дальше...
