Leeds Rhinos - southstander.com • Re: New Head Coach - who's it going to be?

Rugby League Supporters Association Online

Let's be honest, it would be easier and quicker to pick the players you want to keep than those to get rid off.

The whole squad is a mess.

If we sign a decent halfback we might just dodge relegation but there is still an enormous amount of work needed on the squad over the next 2/3 years before the promising crop of youngsters we have can really make an impact.

We need a coach who can get a team to be better than the sum of its parts.

Warrington Wolves • Re: Todays Game v Hull KR

Rugby League Supporters Association Online

Wasn’t that our fourth trip across the Pennines to Hull this season?
No wonder the players were deja bu about it.

And we could be playing saints three times yet before a possible fourth encounter at OT on a cold, windy, wet night in the Manchester mist .

No wonder the players get stale at times.

Wigan Warriors - wiganrugbyfans.com • What do we do with Hankinson?

Rugby League Supporters Association Online

He kicked one great kick from touchkine converting gillys try, next 3 were simple kicks which matty smith would have probably kicked one maybe 2 of and last one was pressure free. I was more impressed with his general performance as much as anything. I think its only fair that he is judged after playing 6 games rather that having him as the saviour for one good game. My opinion is that he is an average super league player who had a very good game on Friday but as i have said on many occasions until... Читать дальше...

Why are Leeds letting him go mid season when they are in a relegation fight?

Two possible reasons.
1. To immediately free up cap space for a major signing most likely a half back.
2. He is so far off the pace this season, and looks a shadow of the player he was, and simply will not be overly be missed

Leeds Rhinos - southstander.com • Re: Watkins testimonial season

Rugby League Supporters Association Online

"The practice started at a time when player compensation, even those at top professional clubs, was at a level that made it difficult to maintain it as a primary form of employment therefore retirement savings might not exist. These matches are generally well-attended and the gesture by the club can give the honoree income that enables a retirement income base or enable the honoree an opportunity to establish themselves in other employment when they finished playing. This is still the main objective of testimonials in Australia... Читать дальше...

Wakefield Trinity • Pauli back ?

Rugby League Supporters Association Online

Salford half backs are creative, Brough has a good kicking game and Miller a good running game but neither could be called creative. The biggest problem visible from game 1 is that we can be beaten out wide and this is still the case. How many times have the opposition had an overlap because we fail to number up correctly.

Stuck in work like most Sundays. Can't wait to see it on LCTV. Well documented soft spot for The Bulls but "First Team" comes first. No Schadenfreude, mucho Freude.

Great result against a Kear outfit. Well done to all!

Hull FC - blackandwhites.co.uk • Re: Recruitment 2020

Rugby League Supporters Association Online

Good player who I'm convinced will never be a great player and although I know that every team can't have 13 great players Dean has promised a lot but rarely delivered much for me. I like us aspiring to continue looking from better players than the run of the mill genuine guys who have been given their chance. Rovers will certainly get a hard working squad player and a nice bloke but he's hardly a game breaker for me.

Sadly to say I think your right. Super league needs a massive change to stop it from being the NRL feeder league that it currently is.
But I think the salary cap would need to go for that to happen and considering the majority of the super league clubs wants to keep it then we will just have to continue to exist as a sport.

Wakefield Trinity • Think back....

Rugby League Supporters Association Online

A nice Sunday evening project for everyone I want people to think of how many games this season where you have thought, yeah we really played well today, both in attack and defence, we really nailed it. Ermmmmmmmmm, well Leeds away, apart from the last 10, maybe Hull away given we lost TJ & Bill. Maybe Wigan at home, although if the Big Bopper had not played we probably wouldn't have even won!! Not many is it, 2 or 3 games??

Wakefield Trinity • Getting a bit precarious!

Rugby League Supporters Association Online

We were 42-6 down at London, they are still bottom of the league........but yes they are a decent enough side i'm not saying they aren't, it's a pretty competitive league as is now being proven. The problem I have is eternally optimistic idiots who don't know what realism is, and can't see the wood for the trees.

Don't know if it's true but I have heard from a few contacts that Gh drops players contracts during testimonial seasons as they get a tax free sum.
I remember schoey leaving on nine years Matt diskin similar and also ablett and Ryan hall becoming unsettled. Then after the testimonial season most get one or two year deals.

Why would they get anything tax free?

Danny Ward has got to be up for coach of the year. He's doing a great job with London, a bit Trinity-esque of years gone by. I do think as our collective opinion of ourselves has risen over the past 3 years I fear we have lost that bit of mongrel, that instinct to survive, that's dragged us out of seemingly impossible situations. Are we up for the fight now? Time will tell.

Well the first test suggests we're not. Last six games players have been out enthused. Читать дальше...

Looks like Hadley has signed for HKR , definitely leaving Hull FC at end of season.
I would have liked to have seen him back down at Belle Vue, thought he did a great job for us when he was on loan spell.

Bradford Bulls - RedAmberandBlack.net • Leigh A 16/6

Rugby League Supporters Association Online

The injuries we cannot help, they're just part and parcel of the game and we've had a bad run just recently. I think you can point some blame at the club for releasing McNally without any sort of back up plan and then also releasing Chisholm when we still hadn't resolved our fullback problem.

I think when McNally went, we expected a replacement would arrive at some point. I know we have signed Brown but he is another young player in an already young squad. Let's hope we have identified some... Читать дальше...
