Wigan Warriors - wiganrugbyfans.com • Bevan French

Rugby League Supporters Association Online

I'm similar in regards a season ticket. I go 95% of games home and away anyway but don’t bother with a season ticket due to missing the odd game for holidays but if we pull of a signing like Burgess on top of getting players like Hastings and French I’d feel compelled to back the club and buy one. I wouldn’t make much of a difference to the coffers as I go anyway (and it probably costs me more over the year) but you get excited by big players and exciting teams to watch and I have mates I’m sure would go more... I was talking with a friend about how we get bullied in the forwards.

Jake made a good point earlier that it seems to be our backs that work far harder than other teams bringing it out of our end and this affects their effectiveness in the attacking third.

Unless we recruit 2-3 more powerful forwards for next season I don't see things changing.

I think we are addressing that problem, jones and manu signed plus another 2 big units on the way, throw... Читать дальше...

The Virtual Terrace • Semi Finals as a Double Header

Rugby League Supporters Association Online

I remember the RFL justifying the decision to do the semis as a double header as they wanted to "tap into the event market". Well, make an event out of it for crying out loud.

Wiith the best will in the world, Bolton is not an event destination. Nobody wants to spend their Saturday afternoons on a retail park in a pretty unimpressive northern town.

And what was there to make it an 'event'? Where were the fan parks, where was the sales push? I completely agree with the previous comments... Читать дальше...

I've hyped up players before they've kicked a ball for us to then only turn out to be garbage so I prefice this post with that acknowledgement, BUT

Christ this kid looks good. There is a cracker where he makes a break, kicks the ball over the top of the fullback, skins Brett Morris and regathers/collects and scores. Brilliant. Another cracking clip of him playing out from fullback with a no look pass to setup a score. Appreciate these are anecdotal highlight clips, but I am genuinely so excited to see this guy play. Leeds Rhinos - southstander.com • Alcohol free areas in Rugby

Rugby League Supporters Association Online

Part of the Millennium Stadium, 4200 seats, are to become alcohol free zones during rugby games. I’ve not heard of this at rugby before.

Would you like Headingley or other rugby league games to have alcohol free zones?

I’ve got to say, particularly at Grand Finals, people drinking during the game, the constant in and out of seats that comes with it is irritating, and I like a few drinks before a game.

Warrington Wolves • Todays Game v Hull

When we beat you in the semi final at Huddersfield some of your fans made a point of coming across and congratulating us on the win. They also wished us well in the final, but that didn't happen. Well played yesterday, a deserved win and lets hope that this really is "your year!" All the best.

If it hadn't been for a strong Hull team turning up intent on stopping us scoring we could have probably scored a bag full !!

Wigan Warriors - wiganrugbyfans.com • Re: Why do Saints look unbeatable?

Rugby League Supporters Association Online

Saints should win comfortably but they struggled to put a mid table championship side away yesterday, so it looks like there’s still some mental frailties they’ll need to overcome. They’re probably lucky to be playing the frailest of them all when it comes to winning finals though.

Warrington Wolves • Sorted ?

Rugby League Supporters Association Online

So after a high tempo game where our line speed was excellent, our error count very low and kicking game spot on, are we on for the double ?

Unfortunately I don't think we can expect that level of effort week in week out as we would burn ourselves out. I guess the motivation for that level of effort came from the players anticipation of a Wembly final. However, they did stick to the game plan and the kicking game was very good so those were two big positives. We are still lacking in the prop... Читать дальше...

Halifax - FaxFans.co.uk • Re: Semi today

Rugby League Supporters Association Online

Was a superb display. Whilst Fax never had a chance, to keep it so close in the 1st half and maintain a respectable result at the end took a huge effort. It was a magnificent defensive display and the fitness levels were impressive against the side running away at the top of Super League.
