Bradford Bulls - RedAmberandBlack.net • Managing Expectations

Rugby League Supporters Association Online

Now that we know a bit more about the plans of the proposed consortium, it got me thinking about the question of 'expectations'.

It seems self-evident that a significant section of the fanbase are living with the expectations that our return to Super League and the glory days of winning trophies are some sort of minimum requirement. I don't think that's necessarily true for this forum, but you only have to head over to Facebook to see a VERY different approach!

In a way, I think that did for Andrew Chalmers. Читать дальше...

Love it, McManus and Saints are truly stuck inside your head, but you are not alone.
.
McManus tenure has seen his boyhood club master 21 trophies/titles in 23 seasons created top Academy and Ladies teams and provided a brand new rugby league purpose built stadium for this century all on a pittance compared to other millionaire club owners........................now that is what you call respect until the cesspit band wagon of social media erodes that perspective

Leigh Centurions • The Cannings/WH Smith Store

Rugby League Supporters Association Online

The Cannings/WH Smith store in the Spinning Gate Shopping Centre are considering having a selection of rugby league books on their shelves before Christmas. They are testing the water by taking just four titles to start with: "A Northern Union Man The life of Harold Wagstaff" written by Robert Gate and Graham Williams along with three of my Ashurst novels "One Winter", "Two Seasons" and "Three Good Years".
If the interest is there they will take more so if you buy your copy of League Express or League Weekly there... Читать дальше...

I fully expect the new potential owners are wanting some sort of supporter led vehicle to raise funds. I don't see why anyone would hold a fans forum BEFORE they've actually taken over.

Ryan Hall is the natural first choice for the Britain wing spots, along side Thomas Makinson when he is fit.

Which NRL club has approached Thomas Johnstone? None that I know of. By contrast Ryan Hall plays for the top team in the NRL, which is a star studded outfit.

Thomas Johnstone would be absolutely over the moon if only the NRL wooden spooners Gold Coast Titans even had a chat with him.

I don't like the rule but if the rest of the game does it you can't blame us for doing the same.

Australia and New Zealand have been doing this for years.

Personally I think you should have to hold a national passport to qualify, but until it is across the board then we have to use the same rules as everyone else and not shoot ourselves in the foot.

I’m happy with what we have. A steady leader at six in Leuluai, the best halfback in the league at seven and the best up and coming junior halfback in the league in Harry Smith. We’ve also got back up after that from Sammut, Woods and Shorrocks but I guess at least one will go.

Think i must be the only one who rates him. I think he is top class. Never going to perform when not getting a run of games in an un-familiar position. I say persevere with him. Spend the off season transitioning him from the left to the right and we would reap the rewards i am sure. We would massively regret letting him go i reckon, but..... we don't know what is going on behind the scenes i suppose.

"Admin error" is hardly convincing but we don't actually know, and so it might be. The big question is, whatever it was, could they fix it? I.e. where was the money, if not in the pension pot? Hopefully in a different separate pot somewhere, so we should hear shortly that was the case and everyone's pension is back on track. Though we haven't heard it yet - but as against that - when did we ever hear anything? Читать дальше...
