Wakefield Trinity • End games of cup finals 2020.

Rugby League Supporters Association Online

Just my own thoughts, cup finals, Challenge cup & champions final could be a poorly recognized achievement for who ever wins & could be a poor
Event/s as a whole.
Would it be better to run the final weekend for SL, to run magic weekend for ALL clubs to end the season on a sound equal financial revenue pull ?
The other divisions could hold the same events the week prior or proceeding days ?
Here to get shot at, fire away guys, it's just a talking point ????

Wakefield Trinity • Nightmare decisions to make.

Rugby League Supporters Association Online

With the re-start of the SL, imminent, once under way & all teams are up & running, " what if ? If what ? " a team has a bout of covid within the club, hence,
Not enough players of quality are available, also reserve players training, fit enough are not available, what if relegation runs ?
One answer, can players guest for your club ? Would there be a fine for non completion of fixtures even though matches missed etc ?
There is so many decisions to complete before we go with the re-start ? Читать дальше...

That was Wigans back line in their opening Superleague game at Oldham. Still the best back line ever in Superleague history IMO.

The Bradford side circa 2001-2003 didn't have a bad backline.

Withers, Vaikona, Naylor, Hape, Vainikolo, Henry, Robbie.

The Virtual Terrace • Future of the Game

It would seem that Lenagan chap is quite contradictory - one one hand you state he is against overseas sides in Super League - bit on the other,he would welcome Perth;as would the NRL.

I have no doubt Lenagan would welcome his club, that being Wigan and not any of his imagined clubs he helps finance, being in any European League.

But Covid19 will have put paid to that in the immediate future.

Trying to finance the M62 corridor clubs is going to be difficult enough.

The problem for Warrington is that they are not v even fantastic on paper. Yes they have a couple of works class players, (Hill, Clark, Widdop) but the quality around them just isn't there. Wakefield Trinity • O/T scary stat

Rugby League Supporters Association Online

Who knows whether our mod and his little click will tolerate this post, considering how FC was locked for no good reason, but I’ll try.

Non political point.

Ive just read that the number of people killed by Covid now exceeds the number of British civilians killed In WW2.

A meaningless stat in many ways But it does put into perspective just how serious this event is and how un-seriously far to many people are still taking it.

Frightening.

As an outsider I thought 94/95 was 'peak Wigan' of all their dominant years. The year before under Dorahy Wigan hadn't been the same side and nearly got chased down by Wire and Bradford. People were starting to say the chinks were showing and the end of the dynasty was in sight. Then in 94/95 Wigan went on to another level.

I also think RL as a sport peaked around that time, at least in my lifetime watching (1989 - ). There were so many quality players around and also some iconic teams. Читать дальше...

Hold it at the Ethiad, proved to be a great venue for rugby league and affordable travel wise for everyone, great accessibility.

The capacity of the Etihad is only 55,000 plus with hardly any other facilities around the Stadium, while the capacity of Old Trafford is 75,000 plus with numerous other facilities in the area which give it a far better atmosphere prior to any game.

I know which I prefer, irrespective of any "in goal" areas!

The Virtual Terrace • Day 55: Who Am I?

Rugby League Supporters Association Online

Each day we will give you three clues to the identity of a player who has played in Super League (at some point since 1996). You have to work out who the player is from the clues and submit your guess. There may be more than one correct answer, but you have to get the one that we have sealed in a virtual envelope.

Once the player has been correctly guessed then we will post on the thread, the thread will stay open until he is guessed or everyone loses interest. We’ll keep a running tally of correct guessers. Читать дальше...
