I never saw Hodgson as a stand out over here TBH in the same way I do the likes of Roby or Clarke, so his success seems strange

He was in a poor team though, and to be fair to him he has been better that either of those two in the England/GB sides.

Leeds Rhinos - southstander.com • 130th heritage Shirt

Rugby League Supporters Association Online

https://www.therhinos.co.uk/2020/05/31/ ... ary-shirt/

I can’t think of a better way to mark the 130th anniversary of Headingley by releasing a shirt in a design we’ve never had.

Unless that was the design when we first played there?

Neither club has even applied to run a reserve side have they? You've had the links to prove this. I enjoy our exchanges, and they can be tongue in cheek at times, but I never joined the board to fantasise my good fellow....

Come on, answer the question.

Who, where and when would Catalan and TWP play their reserve fixtures and would the 15 clubs that have applied, be happy to send their reserve squad to play overseas before a regular round game ? Читать дальше...

London Broncos • Season tickets.

Rugby League Supporters Association Online

As we who have followed the club for some time know. The club have not been very good at communicating with the fans.
What the Broncos have been good at is shooting themselves in the foot.
So let us hope we have none of that in future.

Wakefield Trinity • Re: Jordon Lilly

Rugby League Supporters Association Online

Is Lilly better than what we have ?

Yes, he has some good games but, he's also had some shockers, especially when he was at Leeds.
As with most newcomers at the big clubs, he was lauded as a future superstar but, unfortunately he wasn't anything close.
Comments, comparing his pace with that of Finn are ridiculous, especially as Finn is what, 10 years + older and Finn succeeded with his guile and brain and
a damn good kicking game.
Not saying he's a bad player but, if your going to have a young HB, he wants to have some pace. Читать дальше...

Wigan Warriors - wiganrugbyfans.com • George Williams

Rugby League Supporters Association Online

Interesting to see him operating primarily on the right as opposed to operating on the left for Wigan. He played very well.
If the likes of Widdop and Hodgson can get rave reviews over there playing as pivots then Williams should have no problems, he's far more talented than either of them.

I still think Hodgson has to be the most overrated player in the game. I just don't get the hype.

I've just watched that one too. One thing that struck was how hard Ian Kirke was running the ball in (seriously). When exactly did he lose his appetite for doing that? We all know what he was like as a ball carrier towards the end of his Leeds' career but it wasn't always that way.

I came on to say the same thing, vastly underated in this era but started to live up to his reputation later on

My response related to you saying we should be realistic about the squad. I don’t think we got as much as we should have from the squad available last season, I’m hoping Price has learned some lessons and will extract more of the potential and results will hopefully be better this season than last.

I hope so too but being a Wire fan means being familiar with this situation from the Cullen years.

The Virtual Terrace • Day 61: Who Am I?

Rugby League Supporters Association Online

Each day we will give you three clues to the identity of a player who has played in Super League (at some point since 1996). You have to work out who the player is from the clues and submit your guess. There may be more than one correct answer, but you have to get the one that we have sealed in a virtual envelope.

Once the player has been correctly guessed then we will post on the thread, the thread will stay open until he is guessed or everyone loses interest. We’ll keep a running tally of correct guessers. Читать дальше...

Funny season this one. Will depend more on depth of squads as much as talent. A lot of rugby to get through.
