The Virtual Terrace • What tonight’s game has taught us about Wigan

Rugby League Supporters Association Online

1. They’re garbage
2. They are still just a team of thugs and Wigan management obviously condone it
3. Bateman is a massive waste of money that Wigan don’t even have
4. Wigan is turning blue
5. They’re garbage

Wigan Warriors • Enough is enough.

Rugby League Supporters Association Online

I was an advocate of Lam last year.

This year however it’s just woeful.

It’s time to go.

We have the coaching structure in place for next year already at the club, so why not give them a go now to prepare for next season.

Lam is clearly done.

It’s just embarrassing how lacking in any form of class this team has become.

I know IFL doesn’t like to sack coaches but he needs to send a message to the supporters and future coaches that he will not accept this level of performance. Читать дальше...

Warrington Wolves • Super League top 3 statistics

Rugby League Supporters Association Online

I've put a statistic up that isn't suprising
and shows the advantage, if only slight the top 2 have.
It's shows how many matches the top 3 have played Home, Away and Neutral ground. It also shows who the top 3 have played away in the top 4 and there's no surprise there. Here it is anyway.

Cats
H. 9
A 8. Saints
N. 2

Saints
H. 8
A. 6. Dragons
N. 1

Wire
H 7
A 7 Dragon, Saints, Wigan
N 2

As you can see we have less home games, more away games on average. Читать дальше...

Wakefield Trinity • Are we playing this weekend ??

Rugby League Supporters Association Online

Correct me if I am wrong but don't we kick off in 24 hours against Cas ???

So where is the thread with the 21-man squad and people discussing our chances of beating our 6-fingered friends from across The Common ??

Is this a reflection on where this forum is going along with the rest of the RL community in general ??

Sad times

It’s kind of the same question I’ve just asked looking at the team - only with a few profanities in there. Shorrocks at 9, Bateman on the bench, no Field.

Lovely.

I just don't what to say about it.

Seriously deflated, angry and just fed up with this season tbh.

Like someone else said, is if 2022 yet.

To be in denial about the impact of Johnson is quite embarrassing, I bet you think him to be an honourable and honest politician who has never lied to parliament. I admit he is probably doing the best he can unfortunately that is well short of what anyone would expect from the PM.

Leeds Rhinos - southstander.com • RD 21 | Wigan Warriors (A)

Interesting one this, we’ve got a hell of a lot of players out, a full team perhaps, but the lads are coming off a grinding win v Huddersfield.

Likely that Walker, Hurrell, Handley, Gale, Oledzki, Mellor, L Sutcliffe, Smith, A Sutcliffe, Broadbent miss the game, Martin and Prior return, with all loanees called back (Edwards, Tindall, Hall)

Myler; Briscoe Newman Edwards Briscoe; Lui Mclelland; Holroyd Leeming Tetevano; Martin Gannon; O’Connor.

Dwyer Prior Thompson Walters / Donaldson... Читать дальше...

Since "project restart" happened in the Premier League in June 2020, there have been FIVE HUNDRED games played, yet I can only recall a handful (certainly no more than 10) of games being postponed. That's a miniscule percentage.
Compare this to the amount of SL games played, and the amount cancelled ( I don't have the figures, but I'd wager the percentage of SL games cancelled is SUBSTANTIALLY more than PL football).
Why is this?
Both operate around a similar training squad amount... Читать дальше...

some do. leeds is mostly historical debt which is getting paid off, or was until covid kicked in.
put it another way.
leeds are 60 million or so in debt but get over 150 million a year in tv money, sponsorship etc if they are in the top flight. therefore the debts are structured to be paid off yearly. a top football account says leeds are fine.
the rhinos are roughly £30 million in debt due to rebuilding the ground.and get about £2m a year off sky.
I know marty hates leeds and is baiting but theres your answer

The Virtual Terrace • 2022 challenge Cup final - Tottenham Hotspurs

Rugby League Supporters Association Online

Problem with CC Final is that it use to be a singular club event day in the RL calendar.

Now with SL GF, Magic Weekend, and Northern Rail Cup, Blackpool Weekender etc (or whatever names they're going by) going to the CC Final no longer especially attractive if your team isn't involved, when you can spend your money elsewhere.

You're right, it depends on the definition of success. But when Framing the future was written I doubt having a top flight populated with M62 clubs some of which still have gates of 3k and big cuts in Sky funding was a target. The game has contracted since then geographically IMO - no Cumbria or London in the top flight for example and revenues in a downward spiral. The choice is to continue to contract with the comfort blanket that part time/semi amateur preserves sentiment and tradition... Читать дальше...

That's it Sally. Youve got it.
The good old days when the GB team was sponsored by the downtrodden British coal industry. What's wrong with burning good old coal. The cup competitions were sponsored by cig manufacturers and the regal trophy was a tougher competition because there was more nicotine in regal compared to silk cut.
The stones bitter championship. Now its all trendy beers at £5 a pint from italy. Not 4 slabs of stones bitter on the coach on the way home.
Things haven't changed really. Читать дальше...

The Virtual Terrace • Re: 2022 challenge Cup final - Tottenham Hotspurs

How ridiculous. They signed a deal to have it at Wembley each July, the week before schools finish. That is obviously the best date to get as many youngsters involved. The RFL is clearly trying to kill off the game at all levels. If they worked with school liaison officers and schools and community clubs up and down the country, they could fill wembley every year. That would in turn lead to massive increase in junior rugby league. anyone who thinks that school rugby league is not the future of the... Читать дальше...

Didn't Hull F.C contrive a fake Merger of Convenience to keep themselves in Super League ?

I wonder if Pearson will be bold enough to volunteer F.C to merge with K.R & play out of Craven Park under the K.R name ???

What are the conditions/rules that are in place to award the 24-0 result?

I believe that the postponement of last nights game should result in the 24-0 scoreline to us..given what Catalans have reported.
