Player Ratings
Morrison - 6 - at fault for the Wednesday goal that was offside, wandered forwards and left his man behind him alone
Dean - 6 - basic hoofball that youd expect from a championship footballer, 2 shaky passbacks to the keeper and a few passes to Nsue that almost never made it to the man
Gardner - 6 - please can we not let him take set peices, ive heard the hysteria but i havent seen him play yet. Tonight i saw how bad it actually is. He was assured on the ball at the back though and carried it out 9f danger calmly
Davis - 6 - he would rather run with it than pass to NDoye, says more for the teams perception of NDoye tbh. He was making good movements on and off the ball but is still the never tiring but limited player he has always been
N'Doye - 3 - he won probably 10% of the headers he went for, i watched him slice the ball into row z at a 1 on 1, when we had 3 vs 1 defendee in 89th minute, i dont know if it was a pass or a shot but it may aswell have hit kop corner despite being directly in the centre of goal. He tried to pass to Davis who was 10ft away, a simple along the ground ball was smashed into Davis face. He tried to pass back to the defence and it made it probably halfway then stopped rolling and was picked up by Sheff Weds. The sheff weds players did every bit of play through NDoye rather than any other player. The player marking NDoye gave up and did the double up on Davis and Vassell.
Boga - 7 - There was one foul on him that looked like a blatant red to me, he had the ball with 2 players tight behind and 1 in front. He did them all and outran them, the 1 player stretched a toe out and wiped him out despite being running on goal. He ran a lot, took players on amazingly but struggles with end product. Needs to be central.
Juke - 6 - struggled with no service. Did his normal juke routine of holding play and being super strong to deal with. Nothing more to his game either.
Colin - 6 - didnt get much time in a game that was played predominantly down the right and the center, found himself drifting quite a lot into the middle ala Grounds.
Nsue - 5 - seemed to have Maghoma do a lot of his defensive work and always found himself blocked off when running with the ball in their half. Didnt really make a nuisance of himself.
Maghoma - 8 MOTM - all i remember from watching the game is thinking how we look like something is going to happen whenever he touched the ball. He was immense. Ran with it. Took players on. Tracked back. Defended. That lay off to Vassell was amazing how he did 2 players i think then spotted the perfect pass. Sensational game.
Vassell - 6 - scored despite apparently having a hamstring injury according to sha. Ran around but by the time he came on and scored we went backs against the wall.
