Sort of a response from Blues
Was hoping you could ask a question of the club at a forthcoming meeting. Now it has been confirmed that the poor allocation for the derby game at AVFC is of AVFC's doing is it not time we played hard ball with them and give AVFC the same % of tickets compared to a flat 2000 each. We are putting ourselves at a disadvantage. 2000 fans is nothing at their place but not so ours. Many thanks.
Clubs response
Thanks for getting in touch.
After liaising with the Safety team we can confirm the following:
The decision not to release seats in blocks 1 to 3 in the Gil Merrick Stand upper tier for the derby against Aston Villa was taken after consultation with and advice from the local authority and police.
Of prime importance to the Club is to consider various aspects that could impact upon the safety of all who attend the St. Andrew’s Trillion Trophy Stadium, and comply with conditions detailed in our ground Safety Certificate.
The view of all parties is also influenced by historical evidence relating to this and other parts of the ground when it comes to capacity and configuration.
All such factors are considered on a match by match basis and constantly reviewed.
We are committed to making St. Andrew’s a safe and welcoming environment for all spectators.
As always, the Club appreciates the passionate and consistent backing of the team by our supporters and we thank you for your understanding in this matter.
For any further queries regarding Safety measures, please feel free to contact our Safety Officer, Dave Hoult, ondave.hoult@bcfc.com.
So they basically wouldn't answer. Thanks go to the trust for posing the question.
