In the days of increasing dependence on the technology at their disposal via VAR and the like, this policy of "the ref saw it so there's nothing to be done" seems well past it's sell-by date.
The game no longer relies on one person's split-second view of any given incident, so things like this assault should no longer be allowed to go unpunished if on review there is a clearer view of what really happened.
Surely this will be brought up to date in the close season.

There's nothing to get really, from what I gather you think the ref played a great advantage - I don't. And I think the whole aftermath of the handball incident shows that given that it all happened right in front of me.
The fact I disagree with you doesn't mean I "don't get it" or don't know the laws of the game. It just means I saw it differently from you - in fairness from the best position to see it.
