See you all at Derby where I will be really enjoying myself - but not caring about who the next bloke we are hiring only to fire in a couple of months will be

Do Chuck Taylor All Stars count? I've got some nice leather ones.
TBH, the older I get it's more about slip ons rather than bending over to tie laces :( Vans Classic slip ons for every day wear.

Mate said to me he wonders if there was a half time fall out on Saturday which causes the team to crumble.
It's the only thing really that could explain something like that.
From what I've read Aresnal fans dislike Dein immensely

I'm inclined to agree. For me there's nothing unusual about the board's practice. Most clubs now have advisors/directors of football running the show - was Panos not the same thing? If they don't have a Darren Dein figure then they end up getting involved themselves ala David Sullivan - is that what we want? As far as I'm concerned, the owners have invested heavily which as fans is as much as we can ask. Читать дальше...
Tam, an interesting thought on our transfer business:
A lot of clubs employ DOF's to guide the signing of players and many on these pages have accused Dein of doing just that. The logic behind such an appointment is that when managers get fired, the club can continue to grow with a group of plays that are signed to the clubs philosophy and not managers. Chelsea are the most high profile example of this but Southampton also operate like this, Swansea and Watford too and, before Pulis, WBA. Читать дальше...

Bit more support for your old ankles ?
This is a myth.
The players had stopped playing. The only thing he did bring was his ability to not be Zola and the Italian coaches who knew how to play. So he went back to Sunday league tactics and hoped for the best. Luckily we played a couldn't be arsed Huddersfield team and we managed to scuff a shot that went in at Bristol. I'm not seeing any genius in any of that.

No quotes at all in there. Cotterill changed our fortunes in only 3 games and this season has shown exactly why we've missed him.

Imagine if he did this to Robbo during the team talk
It's all about good quality ankle height boots these days.
Trainers have had their day.
He was touted as our new manager post Brucie I think. Obviously wasnt. But hes been linked before.
Id give him a crack at it. Certainly before desperation prevails and Shteve gets it.

As much as I like Carl Perkins I cannot bring myself to wear blue suede shoes.
We were also lucky to beat Bristol and Bolton had the best chances too, we could easily be 0 or 1 point from 8 games!

Harry Redknapp was sensationally sacked from Birmingham City on Saturday night as Blues slipped to a sixth consecutive defeat. His departure means that the club now seek their fourth different manager within 12 months.

Interesting take on Redknapp's sacking from the Telegraph's Midlands football correspondent
- TTA watched game on TV from Far East and Redknapp was sacked by phone after the game
- Birmingham Board wanted to sack Redknapp after the Burton Albion game but were persuaded to give him more time (by whom?)
- Redknapp's relationship with Jeff Vetere was thought to be fractious
- There were also believed to be issues with his long distance commute... Читать дальше...
It's an ancient Japanese way of honourably taking one's own life.
Cotterill has had years of Championship experience with Portsmouth, Notts Forest and Burnley. He's way too good for League 1- Bristol City walked the league 18 months after he joined them bottom of the league. He kept us up last year and I seriously think with this group of players we'll climb the league.
