Selling Jota in Jan (19 replies)

Small Heath Alliance

Argument sake only... I understand no matter what the table looks like in Jan it can look very different come the end of season BUT

If we knew for certain we are in championship regardless next season,

Would you sell Jota & Colin if we were guaranteed to be able to sign in the summer with no restrictions?

Or ride it out and see what would happen in the summer?

For me I would sell. I would be gutted to see Jota go, on the ball he is amazing, his shooting... Читать дальше...

Hi Lads, Good to meet you all. Stay up in Glasgow and plan coming down for several games this season. Any supporters clubs or contacts up here that would be up for travelling down. Cheers

Budweiser

Small Heath Alliance

Have they made any changes to Budweiser. I’ve drunk it for years as it’s lenient on the hangover with me but recently I get really bad arse sting the next day, even after a couple of bottles.

Whilest perusing a social media group called "Old Pics of Brum" a post came up featuring a picture of an advert for Ansells Bitter.
It featured a picture of a dozen of so vilers under the slogan "Ansells Bittermen, you can't beat them".

Now apart from the obvious parallel of them all being bitter, I was struck by the similarity of the pic and the Villa "hard core" group photo posted here many times in the past.

Anyway, it led me to wonder if the mighty blues have ever been used in an advert? Читать дальше...

Denmark v Wales (3 replies)

Small Heath Alliance

Is this the biggest away win banker in football?

Just been looking for odds but can’t see any at the moment, however I imagine they will be close to meaningless when they come out.

Still, ‘free money’!

Monk’s Patience Key to Birmingham Success (no replies)

Small Heath Alliance

Its been of a summer of frustration and dead ends at St Andrew's, with the club under a transfer embargo. No one has felt the sense of a missed opportunity more than manager Garry Monk, who has, in many ways had his hands tied behind his back and been forced to watch other teams strengthen [...]

Are we too forgiving as fans? (18 replies)

Small Heath Alliance

I was going to post this on the "people we hate" thread but thought it may be worthy of a thread of its own.

Back in the day on BRMB George Gavin used to wind me right up. Was always having a pop at Blues. Remember him saying once that Blues fans were doormats for just putting up with rubbish all the time.

Maybe I'm just getting older now but sometimes I wonder if he was right. It's really not very often that there is mass anger about much at St Andrews any more. And I mean where the whole ground rises up as one... Читать дальше...

Re: Bio Banding

Small Heath Alliance

The biggest thing with it is you have to understand the kid that is involved.

In NZ they bio-band in rugby and it has led to reduced numbers playing because kids aren't playing with their mates. A kid might be a couple of years ahead of his mates physically, but that doesn't necessarily mean he is emotionally ready to be thrown into a group of lads older than he is.

For some outliers it can be a good option. There are plenty of other alternatives to get to where you want to be though. Читать дальше...

Bobby Tambling (19 replies)

Small Heath Alliance

Just popped into my gym in Spain, had a lovely chat, he is very good friends with Barry Bridges too, I mentioned the famous overhead kick against Aresenal and the goal after 17 seconds against Villa at Stans. He recalls the 1-0 victory Blues had against Chelsea in the FA Cup QF as Stans, he said it was a frightening atmosphere and remembered Fred Pickering's header into the Railway end that beat them. A really lovely guy and I asked him to give all our love to BB and to thank him for some magical memories!
