All of my early memories of Blues were from FA Cup and League Cup triumphs in the late 60s and early 70s. OK, we didn’t win either in that period (I was too young for the League Cup win in ‘63), but those cup runs gave a real boost to the club and paved the way for our promotion in ‘72.

What are the chances of an FA Cup run this year? Practically nil, because even though West Ham will undoubtedly rest players, so will we, and they’ve got a bigger and stronger squad than we have.

I think it is probably best for you to stop worrying about Villa, you will never be satisfied and with anything that happens to them. This is their lowest point in the time I have been on the planet and you still think they are the spawniest team in the country.
