That’s so sad. Fingers crossed for him. Make plans for the future all you like but trust me live every day like it might be your last when you can. Life scripts are often torn up and mean nothing.
Love those who love you and love the things you enjoy doing. You won’t have as many regrets then when the bastard reaper takes you

Mister Mutley

Reports say he rejected both the Albion and Coventry

No idea if true

Fair play if that’s what he wants he probably has enough money and looking at quality of life

Has been declared bankrupt I think.

Didn't seem like an ideal character to be connected to the club.

Bairstow v Foulkes (18 replies)

Small Heath Alliance

Who should keep wicket? Foulkes is a world class keeper but is an average batsman.

Bairstow has the gloves because he is a better batsman. 78, 20, 17, 10 and 12 are his five scores to date. Does that warrant him being above Foulkes. I haven't got Bairstow's keeping stats but I am sure they are rather poor.

Is there room for both?

Re: Bairstow v Foulkes

Small Heath Alliance

There are lots of things people forget.

Bairstow had an unbelievable 12 months with the bat for England prior to his broken leg. Before that he had more often then not been pretty average to not great. Even after that stellar year his overall record isn't that shit hot. His wicket keeping has always been comfortably below test standard.

There was really no necessity to rush him straight back in.

Foakes is by a million miles the better keeper, and his batting for a keeper is perfectly fine. Читать дальше...

In recent(ish) years, I'd go for the 2008-09 kit.

This, was a lovely kit.

Small Heath Alliance

Caught up for a beer with a Leeds supporting mate in London this week, conversation got onto Tyler Roberts.

My friend Nick was quite complimentary about him:

"Very unlucky at Leeds. Was amazing in the Championship after we bought him off the Albion, bagged about 10 goals and was a real handfull even though he was only about 20 at the time, but was injured for most of the promotion season. So when he got his next chance it was thrown in at the deep end in the Premier as a result of injuries... Читать дальше...

Parrots (26 replies)

Knowing the barmpots on here, someone is bound to have owned a talking parrot.
Fascinating creatures but by all accounts difficult to own ?
Been teaching one to ‘ Shit on the v***a ‘ every time I pass him here in Stoupa.
Any experience ?
No repeats though ????

Last thing I need in my house is another talking bird.

I don’t think there is a huge amount in it but the have done the basics considerably better than we have.

Bowling injuries have cost us too.

50 shades of Blue (10 replies)

Small Heath Alliance

What is the best shade of Blue and material we've used on a home kit?

e.g the Silky Flybe light blue?
Or Nicolites straight-up up royal blue.
When you look back we've never really decided on the best shade.

Nicolites vivid royal blue for me, but also like the blue and navy sleeve mix of 2019/20.

What should it be if you had to settle today, forever?

Re: John Eustace sets his own expectations for Tom Wagner's Birmingham City takeover

Small Heath Alliance

In the very few interviews he’s done this pre season he has come across as if he is waiting for the knock on the door, to tell him he is surplus to requirements.
In my humble opinion, he needs to liven himself up and grab some positivity from the fact, that this could be a new dawn for the club with our new owners.
We have been crying out for positive news and now we’ve got it, we don’t need the most important guy at the club to be on a constant downer. I am not asking him to shout from... Читать дальше...
