Your local boozer (39 replies)
So, sorry if I’m regurgitating an old thread but I can’t reply to older ones, what’s your local and what’s it like?
I appreciate some of you may not go to the pub, don’t drink or found out that you can save for a new bathroom while the pubs were shut (like I did) and leave them alone.
Mine is the Four Ways in Rowley Regis, Oldbury.
It’s an Indian bar & grill which are popular around Sandwell now - maybe more on that in a bit - but it’s meant to be a family-orientated football/Indian food pub. They rave on about the food which is okayish but it’s £3.40 for a pint of Carling and you don’t get much change from a fiver for a Peroni. Never had a bad pint in 9 years there though. Also very clean.
It’s a very loud pub with bizarre huge plastic animals, dinosaurs, super heroes, pirates and a pair of Coldstream guards at the lounge entrance and a pair of police officers at the bar entrance. Not good kerb appeal at all and the owner himself is a little weird but I keep going there.
My old man tells me it was a very rough pub in the 80s but it’s been turned around. Still full of flippin’ Baggies fans though. Anyone know of it?
