Re: Eustace, Rooney and Blues
dorki kind of don't understand this thing , lets look at some facts , our new owners looked at buying Derby , Rooney was manager of derby at the time , everybody seems to think our owners are uber professionals so it kinda stands to reason they might have had some contact with the manager of the club they were considering buying .
A rumour appears suggesting a larger club wants to poach our manager so being decent owners they may have plans in place should that happen
Having possibly spoken to Rooney previously they mayhave been impressed by what he had to say
so until JE leaves for whatever reason ( and as its football its a certainty at some point ) its kind of a pointless argument as so many if buts and maybe's have to fall in to line for this to happen .
As our club has suddenly raised its profile people are interested in what's happening , surely its better people are interested than the meh attitude every journo has had about us for the last decade or so and if people are interested , journo's are going to write stuff .......end of
A fair summary. People are talking as if the owners are considering sacking Eustace but all that seems to have happened is they are thinking about who they might bring in if Eustace decides to leave. Now, they may, or may not, fight to keep him. That’s a different thing. But we ain’t there yet. And if we do reach that a point, I think it very much does begin to look very similar to the Zola/Rowett situation despite what Tatts says.
I also don’t think Rooney would be as bad as some think. A number of reasons. Part of the The Project is increasing the profile of the club and this would do it. It’s a medium term project not about the short term and this would raise revenues and profile, sell shirts abroad etc. I reckon they’d get. A good coach to work with him too. Somebody to actually coach the term under the radar. The medium term goals would still be in these owners sights. They wouldn’t jeopardise that.
And whilst the start to the season has been great, it’s early doors and I am also still underwhelmed by last season. Eustace did little better than Bowyer the season before with better players.
So, I’m pretty cool about all this and far less fretful than many seem to be. I trust the new owners and will give them the benefit even if this ends p happening.
But……….. if they really want to impress they would do whatever it takes to go and get Potter.
