News and notes: Spencer last raced at Charlotte Motor Speedway in his Legends Cars days. Having just come off his top 20 run at Kansas Speedway he feels comfortable with the truck going in to the next 1.5 mile track this Friday. Spencer noted, “While the track length is the same, the racing surface is much different. Michael McDowell and Leavine Family Racing (LFR) are excited to race at Charlotte Motor Speedway two weeks in a row, just after securing their best finish of the 2017 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series (MENCS) season.
One of the most memorable All-Star races occurred in 1992 when Davey Allison and Kyle Petty were contending for the win along with Dale Earnhardt who was in the lead. During the closing laps, Petty made contact with Earnhardt, who spun, setting up a battle between Allison and Petty.
