Recap: Ryan Blaney and the No. 12 Snap-on Ford Mustang team won the Hisense 4k TV 300 at Charlotte Motor Speedway (CMS) after a strong drive from the rear of the field to start the 200-lap event. The 23-year-old qualified his Ford third during Saturday mornings session but due to unapproved adjustments, Blaney and the No. 12 team started from the back of the pack.

Reed Finishes 11th at Charlotte Motor Speedway

Ryan Reed had a fast No. 16 Lilly Diabetes Ford Mustang at Charlotte Motor Speedway, running solidly in the top 10 and top five throughout the 200-lap race. Reed tagged the outside wall while battling for position late in the race on a restart, resulting in some right-side damage. Despite the damage, Reed was able to battle it out until the end and cross the finish line 11th.

Camry driver Christopher Bell (fourth) was the top-finishing Toyota in his NASCAR XFINITY Series debut at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Fellow Joe Gibbs Racing driver Denny Hamlin (fifth) also finished in the top five at the 1.5-mile track.

A late restart was all Ryan Blaney needed to clear Kevin Harvick and speed to victory in an action-packed Hisense 4K TV 300 on Saturday at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Blaney led a race-high 107 of 200 laps and joined his father, Dave – who won in 2006 – as the first father-son duo to win NASCAR XFINITY Series races at Charlotte, and the sixth combination to win XFINITY Series races.

I knew that we had the 22 behind us if we were on the top and he pushed me a little bit and then kind of laid off there getting into one. The 12 had the best car on the restart getting going. He’s the one who helped us get the lead and I knew I was gonna have my hands full, but he just beat me there at the end and we wound up getting second.”

Bubba Wallace, driver of the No. 6 Globe Life Ford Mustang, ran up front throughout the NASCAR XFINITY Series event at Charlotte Motor Speedway on Saturday afternoon, leading a handful of laps, before a cut-tire from contact with the outside retaining wall sent the Roush Fenway Racing Ford sideways in the closing laps. Wallace ultimately finished 28th.
