KEVIN HARVICK, No. 4 Mobil 1 Ford Mustang – “You just can’t qualify these cars this way. I love group qualifying, but I just laughed all the way out to the race track.”
JIMMIE JOHNSON, NO. 48 ALLY CAMARO ZL1- Pole Winner GREAT WAY TO SHOW SOME RESULTS OF YOUR EFFORTS TO COME BACK: "It's been a long couple of years, and we still have a ways to go. And, certainly race daquy is much more important than Friday, but we've been working so hard, and I think we are a bit guilty of trying too hard and maybe stepping outside of our comfort zone at times, and putting setups on the car at times that just aren't proven yet. With all that said, we were very aggressive coming... Читать дальше...
DENNY HAMLIN, No. 11 FedEx Office Toyota Camry, Joe Gibbs Racing - Qualifying Position: 6th How do you feel about what’s happening in these qualifying rounds? “It’s frustrating and that’s all you can really say about it. It’s just frustrating.”

Stewart Friesen was looking for his first career victory of the season, but he had to settle for another second-place finish.
It was a solid night for most of the ThorSport Racing drivers. The finishing order saw Johnny Sauter, Grant Enfinger, and Matt Crafton all finish in the top five.
DAVID RAGAN, No. 38 MDS Transport Ford Mustang – WHAT DO YOU LIKE ABOUT TEXAS? “The track is a unique mile-and-a-half track. When you get here both corners are different and I give kudos to Eddie Gossage and all the guys out here for being a little bold when they re-did the track. It would have been easy to just repave it and keep both corners the same, but the arch that you get into turn one and the lack of banking in turn one is very unique for any mile-and-a-half."
BRAD KESELOWSKI, No. 2 Miller Lite Ford Mustang – IS THERE A NEW ELEMENT THIS YEAR THAT HAS ALLOWED THE TEAM TO BE SO SUCCESSFUL COMPARED TO PREVIOUS YEARS? TEAM PENSKE HAS BEEN GOOD FOR A LONG TIME. “I think it takes a lot to win at this level and a lot of things have to come together is maybe more accurately said."

DENNY HAMLIN, No. 11 FedEx Office Toyota Camry, Joe Gibbs Racing - How was your Camry in the first practice? “It wasn’t a great practice for us. Just trying to get a grip on our handling. We’re a little bit off, so hopefully get somewhere in that top 12 in qualifying and work on it tomorrow.”
What does the PJ1 feel like and how different is it from the past? “It’s weird because going in and out of the PJ1 you go from high grip to not no grip, but you just have that compound in there when you’re turning down across it down to the center, especially in (turns) 1 and 2. Not so much (turns) 3 and 4, but in 1 and 2. The truck will be turning really, really good and then once you turn out of it, it gets really lazy and you’ve got to put more wheel into it."
Darrell Waltrip entered the 1992 Bojangles’ Southern 500 on a hot streak and was looking for more.
BRANDON JONES, No. 19 jdgibbslegacy.com Toyota Supra, Joe Gibbs RacingHow much do you enjoy racing here at Texas?“I’ve had a lot of fun times at this track. Last year I had a stage win here and really had a great car."
