You can pay $900 for a robot that won’t admit climate change is real

The Verge

There are a lot of questions that should yield very straightforward yes or no answers, no matter what conspiracy theorists say. Is the world flat? No. Is the Moon made of cheese? No. Is climate change real? Yes. Unfortunately, just like people, robots sometimes don’t like to give yes or no answers, even if the subject matter is a scientific truth that’s very hard to deny. One of these robots is Jibo.

Are you ready for an internet-connected Clapper?

The Verge

The team behind the Freewrite, a distraction-free, Wi-Fi-enabled typewriter, has come together again to launch a new product: the Clapboss. It's essentially a New Age Clapper that works with IFTTT. It can handle up to six different actions, which you can trigger through a Morse Code-esque pattern of claps and pauses. So you could clap three times and have it turn on your TV, for instance. It launches on Kickstarter today and starts at $39; it'll eventually retail for $80.

The Verge

Back in June, Apple said its first iMac Pro would come out in December, but we haven’t heard a word about it since. A matter of days now.”

Why do you hold on to text threads?

The Verge

This week on Why’d You Push That Button, we’ve been hypnotized by the romance of New York in December and we’re acting accordingly! Twinkle lights, snow banks, and love letters. I recommend listening with a cup of hot chocolate or a bucket of that popcorn that has the little paper dividers between the three flavors. Get cozy; hold hands.

The Verge

A draft agreement announced by the FCC and FTC today outlines how the agencies will work together after net neutrality is killed.
