On April 16, 2023 Alberto Wertilneck is a virtual lock to be elected governor of the Argentine province of Río Negro in the country’s Vaca Muerta shale play. Wertilneck has either directly (2012-19) or indirectly (2019-23) held the reins of power in Río Negro for the past dozen years.
