Draymond Green: ‘We have a very finite time to do what we’re doing. I’m 32 years old. If I’m being honest, I don’t want to play basketball until I’m 40. I really want to play basketball for another four years after this. I’ve always said my magic number is 15. Once I get to 15, that’s it. I’m cool. Go enjoy my life. Go on to my next thing, leave it to the young guys to take it from there.’

Nunn has been helped by the fact that both Lonnie Walker IV (knee) and Austin Reaves (hamstring) are out for at least two weeks with injuries, but the Lakers figure to have an added benefit from his return to action—Nunn is gaining traction as a trade target. “He could help someone,” one executive told Heavy Sports. “But they need to show he is healthy. He’s got a very manageable contract ($5.25 million, expiring this summer) and they’re dying for size on that team. They’re not going to trade LeBron (James) or Anthony Davis obviously... The Lakers are heading toward a pivotal moment with their roster construction. This iteration of the Lakers is set to look different with Russell Westbrook’s $47.1 million salary set to expire. They are projected to have around $30 million in cap space this summer if they do not add any salaries beyond this season. They will be naturally looking out for upgrades for this season in the trade market but might not get anything done if they plan to keep their cap flexibility open for this summer.

This is also why Kuminga, Wiseman and Moody remain likely to be with the Warriors beyond the deadline. They aren’t actively shopping their three recent lottery picks, according to those sources with knowledge of the Warriors’ thinking. That isn’t to say they couldn’t be moved in the right deal, but a rival team hoping to obtain them would be searching to get Moody or Wiseman on a bargain, and the Warriors aren’t in sell-low mode. Kuminga’s situation is a bit different. He’s shown more and could net more... Читать дальше...
Haynes went on to flex his insider knowledge and let it be known that the Blazers have deemed Simons virtually untouchable moving forward. He interjected by stating that if a roster-shifting move that added talent and experience presented itself, it would be wise of the front office to entertain it.

Tim MacMahon on the Spurs: The other thing you might hear from the Spurs is, ‘Hey, we feel decent about our chance to to re-sign him’. And then if it’s not us, resigning him a sign-and-trade would certainly be a possibility.

The Hawks are trying to trade forward John Collins, but there’s one big obstacle — opposing teams don’t view his contract as having positive value, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN (video link). “John Collins has been at the center of their trade talks,” Wojnarowski said on NBA Countdown. “… Starting next year, (he’s) still owed another $25 million a year, essentially $75 million over the next three years. I think that’s been a hindrance in the trade market. There are some teams, such as Utah... Читать дальше...
Michael Scotto: Kristaps Porzingis on the Knicks trade: “The way the trade happened I did some dumb stuff, like some cryptic tweets. The whole process was just a mess. I didn’t like the way things ended. That wasn’t how I wanted it to end if it did end.”

Before James was sent to the Nets, there were a lot of talks about his unhappiness in Houston and clear desire to leave the team. Wall, for his part, didn’t like it one bit and called it “toxic.” “I’m going there, thinking James gonna be there. But he already wants out,” Wall said on the Run Your Race podcast. “When I landed, I go do my conference sh*t, he like, ‘Well, I’m on my way to Atlanta for Lil Baby’s birthday,’ The f*ck? You want to get on a jet? B*tch I just got traded here… He don’t come to training camp, none of that. Читать дальше...
Almost six years later, and John Wall still rues that opportunity. And in doing so, he even doubled down on what was a questionable take, even back for its time. Speaking on Theo Pinson and AJ Richardson’s Run Your Race podcast, Wall remained adamant in his belief that the 2017 Wizards would have beaten the 2017 Cavs had they faced each other in the postseason. “We was going to beat the s–t out of Bron,” Wall said, with a deadpan look on his face, per Ballislife. “I’m telling you, if you [ask] anybody from the Cavs... During a recent conversation on Outta Pocket, Dinwiddie talked about the differences between Doncic and Harden, two players with a similar style of play but with a big difference in the eyes of Spencer (44:50 mark). “I don’t necessarily think it’s a bad comp. I think where there’s a separation between Luca and Harden–I think Harden probably played with a little more pace so that is where I would give him an edge. But the edges that I would give Luka, and these are pretty big ones, he participates in the defensive end. Читать дальше...
Hornets star point guard LaMelo Ball exited Wednesday night’s game against the Rockets midway through the third quarter after teammate P.J. Washington landed awkwardly on Ball’s left leg.
