Grant Afseth: The Dallas Mavericks are among the teams interested in pursuing a Buddy Hield trade with the Indiana Pacers, per @TheSteinLine . More notes: 1.) There is “no traction” in talks involving the Mavs. 2.) The Pacers are “not inclined” to make a trade involving Tim Hardaway Jr. 3.) The Pacers will likely want a “sweetener” in any trade involving Hield, with a real possibility of acquiring a first-round pick in part of a return.

The clock is ticking for Joel Embiid who is still undecided about which national team he may represent in the 2024 Paris Olympics. At this point, he can choose to play for the USA, France, and also for Cameroon, which got a ticket for the pre-Olympic qualifiers. On Anthony Edwards’ summer with Team USA and the expectations entering his fourth season. Tim Connelly: He’s just a great guy. And the people around him are great. He loves the city, he loves the organization. He and (coach Chris Finch) have a special bond. He’s a positive teammate, which in this day and age is not always the rule. Sometimes it’s the exception.
