Blazers to make Jerami Grant available this season?

0

Jerami Grant, who becomes trade-eligible on January 15, is expected to become available before the trade deadline, according to rival league NBA executives who spoke with HoopsHype following the Lillard trade. “Grant could be the missing piece for a contending team the way Denver got Bruce Brown and Aaron Gordon,” an NBA scout told HoopsHype. “Maybe a team like Miami could take a swing if they’re still a player away.”

Jerami Grant could be a trade candidate to watch now that the Portland Trail Blazers have finally traded Damian Lillard.
He will become trade-eligible starting on January 15 after signing a five year, $160 million deal.
I would also imagine Jrue Holiday can also be had. – 2:24 PM

Lakers fans should be rooting for a Damian Lillard Raptors trade imo.
Getting OG Anunoby to Portland makes it likelier that Jerami Grant is dealt at the deadline. Jerami Grant is probably the best the Lakers could hope to do as far as a mid-season two-way wing addition. – 3:30 PM

More on this storyline

Vanderbilt agreed to a four-year contract extension with the Lakers worth $48 million, according to The Athletic’s Shams Charania, which is kind of a bargain for a defender of his skill. Paul’s clients have been absolutely eating this offseason. That list includes: Fred VanVleet (three years, $130 million) Draymond Green (four years, $100 million) Anthony Davis (three years, $186 million) Jerami Grant (five years, $160 million) Dejounte Murray (four years, $120 million) Jordan Clarkson (four years, $51 million) Jarred Vanderbilt (four years, $48 million) That’s nearly $800 million in salary right there. That’s pretty remarkable. Does Rich do media contracts too? Asking for a friend. -via For The Win / September 16, 2023
Lillard hoped that the Blazers would add several impactful veterans to the bench, a source told Andscape, but that didn’t happen in free agency. Portland did re-sign veteran forward Jerami Grant in July in the offseason, but the Blazers are in rebuilding mode with a predominantly young roster featuring rookie Scoot Henderson (19 years old), Anfernee Simons (24) and Shaedon Sharpe (20). -via Andscape / August 24, 2023
Sean Highkin: Chauncey Billups: “Everything I believe in as a coach is what [Grant and Thybulle] embody. They take coaching, they can both be good on the offensive side and the defensive side of the ball.” -via Twitter @highkin / July 10, 2023
