More on this storyline
Law Murray: The Clippers are expected to waive Josh Primo to create roster space for Jones, sources said. Primo has a left ankle sprain and played only ten minutes this season -via Twitter @LawMurrayTheNU / April 13, 2024
Q: What is the plan with these 10-day contracts if they aren’t playing with the team? —@stripedtshirtz Keith Pompey: I appreciate the question, Allie. I assume you are talking about Kai Jones. Upon signing his 10-day deal, the center was assigned to the Delaware Blue Coats. He’s been sidelined since suffering a hamstring injury in his second game in the G League. And his 10-day contract is set to expire at 12 a.m. Monday if the team doesn’t re-sign him. But the Sixers originally signed Jones to look at him with their G-League squad. It was essentially a tryout to see if he would be a good fit to join their NBA roster. -via The Philadelphia Inquirer / March 22, 2024
The 76ers aren’t sure if Jones will provide anything worthwhile in the 10-day contract, with Nick Nurse openly saying that the time will be used to evaluate him. “I think we just wanted to get him ten days down there. After those ten days, we’ll re-evaluate and take it from there.” -via Fade Away World / March 20, 2024
