DeMarcus Cousins on Rudy Gobert: You can't have a 4x Defensive Player of the Year who doesn’t finish games
DeMarcus Cousins on Rudy Gobert: You can’t have a potential 4x Defensive Player of the Year who doesn’t finish games. I’m never going to be okay with this. I see things in black and white. If you’re the best defender on the best defensive team, you should never be off the floor. There should never be a scenario where you’re not able to fit into the scheme. That doesn’t make sense. How do we keep awarding this guy who can’t even stay on the floor in the playoffs? This is mind-blowing to me.

Rudy Gobert scored 15 points in the Wolves’ 25 points in the 3rd quarter. 7 of those came from the free-throw line, and all 15 points came after Nurk picked up his 4th foul.
Suns badly need Nurk to stay out of foul trouble to close this game – 5:26 PM

Minnesota has an advantage right now with Gobert.
The question is will the T-Wolves continue to run their offense through him.

T-Wolves take Gobert out for Reid.
Break for Suns considering Gobert having size advantage over Young, who could battle him, but it’d be a challenge in there.

Gobert with a lob finish over Eubanks, fouled FT.
Nurkic has the body to match Gobert’s physicality. Without him, Suns have issues trying to keep Gobert off the offensive boards.

Excellent start to the second half from Rudy Gobert.
Finch said after last game, “Rudy is the reason we don’t lose”. That’s gonna get put to the test here in the 2nd half, but he’s doin his part, for sure. – 4:59 PM

“The game before that [on March 7, 2023], he had 39 [points], seven [rebounds] and four [assists]. Then he had a game [on March 3, 2021] where he had 40 [points], 19 [rebounds] and three [assists]. If you look at him versus Anthony Davis, this year [on Nov. 27, 2023] he had a 30-point triple double against him and didn’t play in the fourth quarter [30 points, 11 assists, 11 rebounds]. He had 38 [points], 12 [rebounds] and five [assists] the game before that [on Dec. 9. 2022]. Joel loves playing the best big guys in the world. Any time he’s healthy enough to play against them, he’s going to be out there.” -via SportsKeeda / April 16, 2024
What do you think of the criticism that Joel Embiid has been ducking [Nikola] Jokic in past few seasons? Drew Hanlen: “We just kind of laugh about it. He’s played Jokic two times in the last two years and he had 47 [points], 18 [rebounds] and five [assists on Jan. 28, 2023. On Jan. 16, 2024], he had 41 [points], 10 [assists] and seven [rebounds]. I don’t know why you would duck somebody that you’re averaging 45, 13 and eight against. If you look at Joel versus other big guys, he’s just dominated them. He had 70 against Victor [Wembanyama]. You look at him versus Rudy Gobert. I don’t know his exact numbers, but he had around 51 [points], 12 [rebounds], and three [assists] on Dec. 20, 2023.” -via SportsKeeda / April 16, 2024
