Wigan Warriors Head Coach Adrian Lam has named his 19-man squad to face Leeds Rhinos at the DW Stadium on Friday evening (K.O. 7:45pm)
The reigning BETFRED Super League Champions return home on Friday for the first time since their semi-final victory over Castleford Tigers last October.
As Adrian Lam prepares his side for the first home fixture of 2019, he hopes that they will make the DW Stadium a tough place to visit this season. “We want to make this place a fortress where we dominate home... Читать дальше...

I don't care which club they support - anyone taking flares or other such items into a sports ground, should be strung up by the larger of their two testicles from the gates of the stadium.

Chalmers needs to stop sticking his nose into everything and look closer to home. To start with sorting out the match day experience on game day which is frankly a disgrace.

It's not easy to change something that is embedded. This group has been together a long time, playing a certain way under the same coach. When you're tired you naturally resort to the path of least resistance, which is the thing you're used to. It's going to take patience and some good coaching by Lam, and belief and a lot of effort by the players to change how we play.
Combine that with losing one of our main organisers in Sam, the team has a lot of changes to work at.
This isn't just a Lam thing... Читать дальше...

Why ?
I am in receipt of both car & fuel allowance, upon which I am taxed as earnings & it is automatically declared by my employer, flights or agents fees apply to the SC whether they suit Wigans agenda or not !

None at all, and that wasn't what I was saying. I was (perhaps badly) just saying that TO have built organically rather than "buying" a team as TWP have done, which seems a far more sustainable way of establishing a successful club. They win the final playoff game, and Wakey come bottom of SL then they swap places.

Indeed, like Leigh and Salford, people from Manchester don't see them as "their" team.

How the lads react this week will I think speak volumes. If woolford gets a reaction from then and we see more energy and effort then we will be ok going forward. If it’s more of the same as Friday it’s going to be a long season. I do not expect a win, but if they are competitive I’ll be happy.

Is it just me that finds it strange that "agents fees and a flight allowance" are considered part of the salary cap?

Simply replacing Wakey with clubs who have little to no youth development isn't the answer either. What more right do both expansion clubs have over the likes of Wakey?
This is from the Hull board, but worth posting in here too - every little helps!
In February 2018 former Hull FC player Adam Maher was diagnosed with motor neurones disease. Maher, who played for the Airlie Birds for four seasons between 2000 and 2003 after signing from Gateshead, have made the trip from Australia alongside close friends, family members and former Black & White Craig ‘Knuckles’ Greenhill to attend a dinner to help raise funds for Adam and his family in this difficult time. Wigan's about the same distance from Leigh as Warrington is from Widnes, so it would be like giving us a fixture at Halton Stadium.
