Criminally underrated player.

I don't even think he got the full props he deserved from Wigan or the fans. I know they rated him, but when you hear Rads say we couldn't have got Thompson if Smithies stayed, or see Wane not picking him for England - the obviously don't think he's that good.

I do agree he was massively underrated in this country. I can’t blame Rads too much for that comment though. I think Smithies wanted out and while we could’ve held him... Читать дальше...

we are no further forward in terms of an identity or playing style than when smith came.
you can blame refs, 50/50 calls whatever, but the fact is we have played on the back foot since he came.
it occasionally works but long term it certainly work and smiths blinkered approach and refusal to change means its another doomed season

Interesting article on the SL salary spending.

Very surprised that Hull are so low down, I suppose it's starting to show in the results. I wonder how we would line up, probably just above London for now.

Smithies with the most metres and tackles out of the forwards on either side, 60 minutes in to the game against Parra. Impressive effort against 17 blokes produced in a lab.

I think we need to keep things in perspective. We haven’t had an awful start to the year overall, and shown good quality in patches. That’s something.

I don’t think any of us loved getting spanked by Wire at home. No excuses, we got what we deserved. I think the main reason we lost is just errors, again. You can argue this is RSs responsibility after this long in charge.

I would say we were right in the game until the 40 min mark. There were some 50:50 callls go against too - Martin ball strip was marginal... Читать дальше...

Which is great for the league

I don’t really know enough about most teams either to know if that’s a shock or not but losing at home early in season you can’t imagine Toulouse being happy with that.

Until the tactics change and we get more front foot posession and territory the money we have spent on Croft is wasted. Swap him and Williams on Friday and he would have looked top class and Williams would have been on the periphery.

Hull FC • Tony Smith signs 2 years Sept 22

Rugby League Supporters Association Online

Smith now has a different excuse and or strategy every week

Last week he needed angry players and now he wants players to do what he asks

The default is to ask for more time yet he’s had 18 months and we are at rock bottom

He cannot change this but actually make it worse

Just please resign NOW and do the right thing for the club

Leeds Rhinos • Smith out ASAP

I think the culture is what we seem to have got really wrong. The whole premise of what everyone has being saying is how much everyone gets on, and likes being together.

That’s all well and good, but good culture looks much more like mutual accountability and respect than just being a bunch of nice guys. That’s something the golden seemed to manage well.

Apparently Craig Bellamy has told players post game to stand up if they think they’ve played well, and asked the players sat down who of that bunch should be sat down. Читать дальше...

I thought Jack Sinfield looked more robust than last season, he has worked on his physicality.

Generally Wira looked physically more mature - but again when you’re playing opposition like that, you have to out-skill them and we failed to.

The ref allowed Warrington to lie on at the ruck to a ridiculous level too, it was embarrassing.

I see on other site that the suggestion is that our salary spend is lowest in the league: no surprise there but that it’s 1.4 million. That puts it in perspective. Probably shouldn’t but that surprises me. Imagine how much you’d have to spend to get a decent sized squad and SL standard players. We regularly make a horse’s rear of things but the cost of running a club really are verging on unsustainable.

We have 28 players in the first team squad. That would be an average of £50K. Читать дальше...

I'm sure the togetherness built in the off season was real. But it will dissolve pretty quickly if results don't go the right way. Exactly the same as last season. Ultimately we're a pro sports team. Results are what matters, and if you win, personality issues matter far less and people who might otherwise not get on at all will work together happily.

We're always obsessed with signings and transfers. The squad we have should be finishing no lower than 6th (i think we'll finish between 4th and 6th whether Smith stays or not). The tactics leave no margin for error.

Again, a game played with the intensity you want to see, but I'm not sure the skill levels were where they should be for 2 of the top 3. There were so many errors in that 2nd half.

I'm glad Catalans won though, they deserved it.

Was that Makinson try really a try? It didn't look like he got it down.

Just watched the first try by Swift
Genius Jake C makes Cam Scott look like a pub amateur
Ligi Sao is actually still getting back inside when Swift scores
Sao missed the initial tackle and just cannot be assed to get back onside

Sao surely needs to go from playing in the World Cup to playing for the Reserves v Batley
He’s so so lazy - he is the new Michael Smith
We’re on the mickey - we’re on the mickey with Michael Smith

Sao - you’re robbing a wage and why can’t Smith see this ? Читать дальше...

Hull FC • Smith - should he stay or should he go?

Rugby League Supporters Association Online

The foundation of any sporting team, is ambition, motivation and desire. The whole organisation is lacking in all of these 3 key areas. This stems from the club's hierarchy, we have a group of individuals, who are not professionally physically & mentally prepared to play in SL at an acceptable level. This is due to the owner, appointing inexperienced backroom staff, and not replacing personnel who leave. The Team Manager, who I believe is no longer coaching the team, his assistant's are unable... Hull FC • Saints (A) next up - IAKOW

"Let's be havin ya' " as the prophet Delia Smith once said.

Occasionally I like a bet. I won big on the FC match this weekend.

Will FC get 60 points start when they play? Thankfully we get a week off and they don't.
Is that a good thing? At least Grix gets time to know the players more.

Worryingly we have Leeds after Saints, then Warrington. Oh, then London away.
We are in so much shoite it's hard to see us winning again all season. I don't see where we win next inc London. Читать дальше...
