I've got a Santander Zero card, which doesn't charge interest on purchases made in the local currency, and no exchange rate fees. As has been said, if you take cash out you may not be charged exchange fees, but you will be charged interest immediately.

If you've got access to the internet whilst out there, then just transfer the equivalent amount across the same day?
