Jeff Vetere and his role in choosing or securing our next manager?

Small Heath Alliance

As Director Of Football, I wonder if it will be down to him to ultimately recommend a name to the owners for the job of Birmingham City's new manager or will the owners tell him who they want and it will then be up to him to secure him?

Bet he thought he could relax till January's transfer window. He may be having a busy couple of weeks

Re: Did You Expect Today To End How It Did?

Small Heath Alliance

Nope. I was gobsmacked when I heard. I was down today and it was awful yes but i didn't think he would be gone.

Pissed off, got home early had a vent next thing you know , sacked. Wtf!

I'm kinda meh about it. If I'm being honest I felt to me harry didn't really have a full season of this in him. Hes 70 ffs.

The first half was ok without being brilliant and second half we absolutely fell apart. Let's look positive...

I can't blame the Board for acting now, as there have been few signs that Harry knows what he is doing (in this division). Whilst I was prepared to give him 10 games following the close of the window, the team has been so lack-lustre and dis-jointed that it's difficult to be confident for the future.

Harry has played to the media and the fans, rather than rolling up his sleeves and actually managing what is happening on the pitch. Today's 2nd half was a shambles. Читать дальше...

Can't believe the amount of people suggesting Cottterill and Potter.

These owners have appointed Zola and Redknapp, two famous people known for attacking football, we will get another famous person known for attacking football, you can take that to the bank.

So who will our Lee bring in from the wilderness to guide us to victory?

I'd throw Dutch Mike in for the craic!

You couldn't write it could you, facing Gary.

Re: Is anyone pleased ?

Small Heath Alliance

I'm sad - I wanted Harry to be a success and after seeing him on the last day the season last year - I'm convinced he really wanted success with Blues too.
I'm angry - what looks like a much better team on paper is performing terribly.
I'm fearful - who we get next probably wont turn us in to an overnight success and this season is pretty much written off, baring a possible relegation scrap.
I'm disgusted - that the Vile are doing so poorly, but even now we're worse than them

Nailed on Dean Smith

Signed 3 Brentford players in the window, plus Carsley. Vile or not, we could hit the ground running with him.

Their decision making has been questionable so far. Whether some on here like it or not this all stems from the sacking of Gary Rowett. We had stability and a young manager trying to build the squad with very limited resources.

He knew the squad limitations and played to a formation / style he knew he could get the best out of them in. Since then we've seen the shambolic reign of Zola, and Redknapp coming in to save us. Once Harry said i'll have one season... Читать дальше...
