Re: The light at the end of the tunnel

Small Heath Alliance

We're playing well and have a consistent way of playing and settled starting 11 really.
Some will always knee jerk game by game, but the majority can see the progress that has made under Monk and his staff.
Financial Fair play is our biggest issue. We won't be able to keep this side together, which is a bloody shame

The light at the end of the tunnel

Small Heath Alliance

Remember how we all thought that winning the Carling Cup and qualifying for Europe would be the making of the club and the beginning of a golden generation?

Two or three days later the stories of Carson’s mismanagement of the club’s finances began to emerge and three months later we dropped through the trapdoor.

Yesterday’s win was brilliant - it had been coming with those stirring performances against Swansea, West Brom, Sheffield Utd etc. Naturally we’re all as happy as the canine with an extra set of sex organs... Читать дальше...

I've said it out loud.

There is no reason why not with luck on our side....

After the last few weeks we are due quite a few games where we play badly and still get the points

It's gonna happen .....

Imagine

Villa miss playoffs and we get in

The assumption is that we will now start to outplay teams, but win regularly.

Thus destroying your idea of us averaging 46 points across the season because we've only got 9 from 9.

The list goes on. Drives me so nuts. Where are the Brummies? It's like northern means sensible, down to earth, trustworthy. I though that's our territory. Grr.

Reading what Monk said, the first player that came to mind was Emile Heskey.

What a difference a good manager makes! Last season under cotterill alot of us said it was the manager at the core of the problems and it's proving to be right. You can see we have a plan and players know their roles now finally the complete opposite of last season.

Also would love to of seen Gallagher In this team!

Looks like Garry gave him a kick up the arse from his comments, seemed to work.

Good management.

Top 6 possibilities

The way the defence is performing at the moment I can't see us conceding many goals. We have only won once but only lost twice, we have played the best teams in the division and had a tough start to the season. The only thing that may stop the progress is injury, suspensions or points deductions Is it a real possibility?

O2 Academy as a music venue (9 replies)

... Or if you’re of my era, The Dome ????

What’s it like for watching a band ? I tend to like watching acts in small venues. I’ve done Wolverhampton Civic, Liverpool Uni Mountford Hall, O2 ‘Institute’ Brum, Llandudno’s The Venue recently, and liked the intimacy of those types of places.

Is The Academy that much bigger ?

Found this live version of the Orange Juice hit. Brilliant 80s nostalgia and better than the recorded version IMHO.

On Sunday Supplement they're talking about Wolves building a bigger stadium and saying they have the ability to fill it. They talk about size of the club, size of the fans base and catchment area, and I'm thinking really?

Now, in my lifetime wolves have always been mediocre - a good thirty years we're talking. Do they really have such a big fan base? I just wonder why we are never seen as that sort of prospect. Given that we hold the name of England's second biggest city, you'd think... Читать дальше...

Gary and Garry (2 replies)

Two similar situations have occurred at Blues and Stoke and it's interesting to see how Garry and Gary have dealt with it. Both Stockdale and Bauer have been left out of their clubs and both resorted to social media to get the fans onside by talking about how hard they were training and what good shape they were in. Garry said nothing and got on with the job at hand, trusting himself and his decisions. Gary, however, used yesterday's post match press conference to publicly criticise Bauer for 'trying... The perfect follow up fixture to todays game.

This will be the game where we finally rip a team to pieces.

There will be no stopping us after that.
