Geoff the chin Vowden at Highbury in the cup in 68. He was outside the box and deftly lobbed the keeper - with his head!! I think it ended the keepers arsenal career (Furnell???) and opened the door to his deputy Bob Wilson who went on to great things. He couldn't stop Barry's famous scissor kick in the replay though
I was quite impressed to be fair. He got targeted by their wingers, a lot came through that side and he was shakey to start, but then again the whole team was. However he dealt with most of what came his way and got better as the game went on, he just run out of steam hence why he got taken off.
Harding could do well in that roll too with a bit more freedom to venture forward. He had a good few runs down the touch line and he looked strong.

Think back to the start of last season when we absolutely battered teams but didn't win. Football is about winning simple as. Yeah it wasn't a great performance today but the history books will show that we won.

It looked like Thomas Frank was saying something to the officials in the centre circle at the end but stopped when he saw Crowley walk behind him and went and tapped him on the shoulder and it looked like he singled him out for praise.

Missed the game, scouting Portsmouth. Sounds odd. He's on his bike.
Seems that Pep hasn’t been lying in his interviews when he’s said things along the lines of “we will still be hard to beat” and “there will be he same commitment that the fans are used to” etc etc.
He’s set up today to hit them on the counter and not be too dissimilar to last season. He obviously sees this transition as an ongoing process and will set a team up depending on the circumstances of the game rather than blindly trying to tikka takka.
