I agree with the wages, but disagree that Gayle could be the difference. We have a strong midfield now and one which hopefully can create chances, we need a striker who can run onto those through balls and put the ball in the net. Not saying it would, but 20-25 goals a season could well be the difference.

Nevertheless, I think we’ve had a good window and we’ve done things the right way. Gayle would have gone against that so I’m pleased in a way we didn’t pay through the nose for him. Читать дальше...

I'm a tad worried if we don't get any loan deals done in the near future. We really need a striker and left wing back asap. Just to fill our squad out. Dong saw at Portsmouth we haven't got the depth in squad.

But on a positive note the signings we have made have been really astute and well thought.

Crowley looks an absolute steal and baller. I hope the two new Spanish lads gel quickly and start firing.

Probably Dongs fault.

Reading the Guardian's list of astute premier league buys and seeing him just reminded me how much I like. No ill will at all about him leaving and I'll definitely want to see him do well for Southampton.

Hope he flops and they loan him back to us in January.
