I have just received a programme I have bought online from the match against Everton on 27th October 1973 that is signed by most of the team on that day.

One of the autographs is a Dennis Clarke playing at right back for us. I have no recollection of this player playing for us and wondered if anyone else out there remembered him playing for us.

He really doesn't look comfortable.
I'm almost torn between hoping that he just lumps it 100% of the time because that's safer than a misplaced
pass to the opposition.
When there's an opponent within 2 metres of him it's dealt with in hot potato fashion. Probably for the best ???
Sanchez will help him to an extent but some of his decisions lack confidence.
The opposition know he's that way inclined and target him as a result.

Yes it was - think all those involved in that particular shit show are now gone - apart from the head honcho - Dong. I try not to blame players though, Roberts is what he is, if some dick is prepared to pay 3.5mill and give him decent wages, good luck to him.
I don't think he's anywhere near as bad as some say btw.

Well I liked him anyway.

I must admit I'm starting to get a bit confused,which I know is not that rare.
We have been told since his arrival that 4231 was Karanka's favoured line up.Now I realise when a Coach first comes in he has to use the formation suited to the players at the Club, but the signing of Halilovic (our 4th number 10 ?) is Karanka's 12th new signing. Surely he has brought them in to play in the style he wants so why do we keep changing formation week in week out.

This has been mentioned before in previous threads. He changes week to week to suit the opposition rather than sticking to a balanced formula.

It's Lee Clark-esque in that sense. Each week the team is different. No Leko involvement but Hogan gets a start last night, we lump the ball up to him in the air... no good.

Weekend comes around, Hogan doesn't start again, we try and play it on the floor.
A week later, Leko is back in the line up.

What did Karanka say to Sanches when he came on ?? .he played well enough but most of it was in his own half and across the pitch . Seemed very reluctant to go forward very much

need to find 2 wins from somewhere before the end of the year or by my reckoning 2020 will go down as the worst ever in our history with only 7 wins in the calendar year

9 wins in 1896 and 10 in 1986 seem to be the benchmark

For me his pace is a threat.
Every time he has played he has looked a threat.....presumably when he was less fit than he is now. Totally baffling.
Maybe he was the getaway driver when Crowley p*ssed in Aitor’s pond?
