Today... maybe he didn't fancy Colin on the right of a 3 against Davis so put Nico there and him on the left with Peds as cover. Maybe wanted to stretch the Forest midfield with Hernandez which did give Richards space.
There must be some logic there.

Hernandez has produced absolutely nothing at right wing back. I say wing back but he’s basically playing on the right of a back 5, it’s a horrible misuse of a player.
Colin on the left if the three is odd too, a player who refuses to use his left foot, leaves us unbalanced.
