Liverpool man united

Small Heath Alliance

A few offers on sky bet this evening if anyone fancies a flutter.

I've had Liverpool to score 4+ goals at 3/1 they'll hammer them tonight I think.

Re: What Troy Deeney did after Birmingham City's dismal 6-1 defeat at Blackpool

Bowyer seems to have issues with Deeney and CG. I couldn't be totally sure whether that is due to Bowyer or not. I was sure that we needed continuity but you also need everyone pulling in the same direction. The players do not seem to be behind the manager at the moment and I think many of them want him gone. Players really have way too much power. You could also make an argument that LB has publically criticised a few of them. Hogan and Gordon immediately spring to mind.

Cattell Prod's Funeral (no replies)

Small Heath Alliance

Hi all, Jim's wife Em has asked me to share the information surrounding his funeral as she knows a few people have asked so I thought it would be easier to leave it here if anyone wanted to attend.

Please RSVP using the link below so we can sort out the food etc.

Bradley Wiggins (3 replies)

Small Heath Alliance

Gave an interview to Men's Health disclosing he was sexually groomed by an unnamed coach at 13.

Absolute scum, hopefully Wiggins is getting the counselling he needs now to deal with what happened to him, fair play for him speaking out, I'm sure there are other sports that had or have this issue ongoing, hopefully we can weed them all out

Re: Divided we fall

Slowly dying before our eyes and very little we can do it appears. One of the problems we have is the fanbase is very divided, we have fantastic away support but in some ways does anybody think this has added to the division.
We will have 3,000 very vocal supporters in Blackpool on monday who will back the team and by and large you will see the same faces at every game, Large numbers travel with organised groups who have a close relationship with the club, many are gold and platinum... Читать дальше...

Re: 'It's the Players'........

Small Heath Alliance

I mean let’s have it right, when Graham first joined and he was playing at RWB everyone was blowing his trumpet saying he’s the perfect replacement for Colin’s injury, was they not? Plus it doesn’t always mean the position they start means that’s how they play, it’s dependant of attacking and defending, you might find Chong is CM when we are getting pressed but when we attack he moves higher up than the 3 into a CAM

'It's the Players'........

Small Heath Alliance

I remember clearly the chatter after we'd lost 8-0 at home to Bournemouth. It's the Players, it doesn't matter who we get in etc. I think I remember Tom Ross saying this in a radio show but I may be mistaken. In walked Rowett with clear plans, tailoring the tactics to the squad demographic and we started getting results.

I'm personally getting sick and tired of people sticking up for Bowyer and blaming the players.

Why do we have Lee Bowyer if it isn't to coach, organise, improve, prepare and nurture the players. Читать дальше...

Question about our situation (6 replies)

Small Heath Alliance

When Bowyer was first appointed a lot was made about keeping things simple, playing a rough 442 which reaped rewards.

This season we are pretty much in the same situation as we were when Karanka was in charge. Players out of position, bizarre formations and tactics.

Could it be that the "manager" isn't the issue and he is actually not the one picking the team etc? Him sitting in the dugout at half time on his tod speaks volumes.

Re: Yes or No - should Bowyer stay?

Small Heath Alliance

I agree, he's broken. Lee Clark was the same it's affected their health. Bowyer always said he didn't want to manage, I wonder if he'll knock it on the head for the easy life and go back to fishing? I wouldn't blame him.

Which position produces best managers?

Small Heath Alliance

Thinking about the who next manager and Friends name has been suggested. Arguably our most successful managers in recent years have been Centre Backs - Bruce, McLeish, even Monk. So do we insist our next manger should be a centre back making Friend a shoe-in?

What Customer Service? (2 replies)

Small Heath Alliance

On the day we were hammered by Blackpool, (bit annoying as I have a couple of Blackpool fan mates), Bazza who writes our "View From the South" match reports sent me the following letter he sent to the club. It relates to his request for match tickets. The truth is, Read More

Re: What Customer Service?

It's ok saying he feels sorrybfor the staff, but surely theyre to blame for recent games being advertised as still being on sale ticket wise?
This has been the case for years btw

Didn't realise till this season that, Bruce is Blues second longest serving manager, period. That was a bit of a surprise, it seems we have always been a tad "flighty" when it comes to managers?

Re: Behind the scenes

Small Heath Alliance

Agree with all of this. TBH I feel quite sorry for Bowyer, Gardner and Dutton as they're just patsies (admittedly well-paid ones), as there must be so much interference at board level it's impossible to do any sort of job. OK, Bowyer isn't a great manager, but like everyone else he has got worse during his time at Blues. And until BSHL are gone, it's just going to keep happening like a footballing groundhog day.
