Lyft has raised $500 million in additional funding, valuing the Uber competitor between $6.9 billion and $7.5 billion according to several media reports. The money, which Lyft was rumored to be attempting to raise last month, will fund the company’s competition with the much more valuable — and better funded — Uber.

Twitter has launched a lawsuit against the Trump administration, after the Department of Homeland Security sought to unmask an anonymous user of an anti-Trump account.

Nvidia's been enjoying a long and uninterrupted run at the top of the graphics card heap, and it just extended its lead with the new Titan Xp. For $1,200, the card offers the same Pascal GP102 GPU as the $5,000-ish Quadro P6000, with all 3,840 CUDA cores to play with. It also has much faster memory than the Quadro, bumping up from the 10GHz of last year's Titan to 11.4Ghz. Like the Titan X (which can now be had for around $1,000, if you can find it in stock), the Xp has 12GB of GDDR5X RAM.

More than a year after Activision Blizzard officially acquired Candy Crush creator King for $5.9 billion, the Swedish developer has revealed that it’s creating a new mobile game based on Call of Duty. The game appears to be very early in development, and will be handled by a new team within King’s Stockholm studio. There are currently no details on when the new Call of Duty game will be released.

Five years ago, YouTube opened their partner program to everyone. This was a really big deal: it meant anyone could sign up for the service, start uploading videos, and immediately begin making money. This model helped YouTube grow into the web’s biggest video platform, but it has also led to some problems. People were creating accounts that uploaded content owned by other people, sometimes big record labels or movie studios, sometimes other popular YouTube creators.

Today, Digital Foundry provided an early glimpse at the next Xbox, Project Scorpio, with an in-depth look at the specs that will power the console. Specs are great, but what do they mean in practice? Twitter has introduced a new, speedier version of its site for the mobile web and dubbed it Twitter Lite. Focused on emerging markets and users in environments with unreliable connectivity, Twitter Lite takes up less than a megabyte and comes with a further data saver mode that blurs images and videos until they’re tapped. Twitter says the Lite version will load to the point of interactivity in under five seconds on most 3G devices, and claims that it can save up to 70 percent on data while loading 30 percent faster. Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos said today that he plans to sell $1 billion worth of stock in the e-commerce giant every year to help fund his spaceflight company Blue Origin, according to SpaceNews. As the world’s second richest person with a net worth of more than $78 billion, behind only Bill Gates, Bezos certainly has the financial resources to do that for many more decades. If you’re not too keen on waiting for the next Patch Tuesday to get your hands on Microsoft’s upcoming Windows 10 Creators Update, you can manually install the new version of the OS through the company’s website. NASA astronaut Peggy Whitson, the only woman living onboard the International Space Station at the moment, is on track to break a big spaceflight record: at the end of April, she will have spent more cumulative hours in space than any other US astronaut. But now it looks like Whitson’s going to rack up even more flight time in lower Earth orbit than originally planned. It’s one of the most enjoyable parts of my week, and I started thinking it might be fun to do every day on the site.
