James Harden is participating in practice with the Philadelphia 76ers on Wednesday at Colorado State University, sources told ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski. Harden rejoined the team for the second day of practice under new coach Nick Nurse after he had skipped both media day Monday at the team’s facility in Camden, New Jersey, and the opening practice of training camp at CSU on Tuesday.

Zhaire Smith is perhaps best remembered as part of the 2018 draft day trade where Smith and Miami’s 2021 first-round pick were dealt for the 10th pick,  Mikal Bridges. The Texas Tech product only lasted two seasons with the Sixers, and has since been trying to find his footing in the NBA landscape. After bouncing around numerous teams, he played well for the Thunder Summer League squad in July, and landed an Exhibit 10 contract with the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Long before Rockets guard Jalen Green would consider NBA free agency, he is a coveted free agent of a different kind that has generated intense interest from a segment of the NBA community. Green is weighing dropping CAA as his representatives and is considering several options, with a decision expected in the coming weeks, two individuals with knowledge of the situation said.

“There’s not a trade out there that keeps the Sixers in championship contention this season,” said Adrian Wojnarowski. “The difference between the Harden situation and the Ben Simmons’ situation a couple of years ago is there were a lot of possible deals out there for Ben Simmons. You would measure them. You would look at them. What they could get. Teams in both conferences had interest in Ben Simmons. “This is different. There’s not widespread interest in James Harden.”

“We’re going to run plenty of pick-and-roll because Chris [Paul] is one of the best pick-and-roll players in the world,” Kerr said. “But he’s also showing he’s very interested in incorporating some of the stuff we already do — our split cut game and our movement. He’s such a smart player that he’s already figured out ways to be effective. We’re going to lean into him and he’s going to lean into us, and we’ll meet halfway and the offense will form.”

Mitchell confirmed he would not sign an extension with the Cavaliers this year but urged a reminder that he will still be able to do so next offseason. “I want it to be known that I still have the opportunity to sign an extension next summer. I don’t think a lot of people understand that aspect,” he said.
