The Philadelphia 76ers and Los Angeles Clippers continue to be at a stalemate with their discussions on a James Harden trade as both sides are firm in what they are offering and what they want. Harden has been away from the Sixers for 10 days and reported back to the team shortly before their flight to Milwaukee for their opening night. “We know he wants a trade,” said Adrian Wojnarowski on his podcast. “He’s made it pretty clear he was not going to make this easy on Philly if he didn’t get the trade. “My legacy here is just haven’t been able to finish,” Paul George told The Times. “I think in a lot of ways, injury prone, inability to finish. So can’t even say that — like, I never go into a summer like, ‘Hey, what do I need to work on to get better, what do I need to’ … I got to just try to find a way to stay healthy.”

Do you feel like Ben Simmons can return to being an All-Star and All-Defensive guy? Spencer Dinwiddie: Yeah, for sure. If you look at his age, he should be getting ready to start peaking now. Then it comes down to health, and you look at who he’s been historically. We need him to be an All-NBA, All-Defensive Team, All-Star-level guy for us to be good. We can’t make any guarantees, but that’s what we need to be a good team.

LeBron James opened up his 21st season by being limited to 29 minutes in the Los Angeles Lakers’ 119-107 loss to the Denver Nuggets on Tuesday. Lakers coach Darvin Ham said the tapered workload for the 38-year-old superstar is part of the team’s plan moving forward. “It’s easy with him to get caught up in the emotion of the game and you tend to forget you want to play these long stretches, but in order for him to be as effective as possible, we have to be mindful of the minute output and how long his stretches are,” Ham said.
