With the 2024 NBA trade deadline in the rearview mirror, rosters are, for the most part, decided. The trade deadline is not the same thing as a roster deadline, and teams are permitted to make signings and waivings up to and including the last day of the regular season. Nevertheless, rarely if ever do those post-deadline moves make an impact on the team’s cap pictures in future seasons, and thus fairly accurate assessments of how each franchise lines up for the upcoming offseason can be made.

Friday night saw multiple brawls in the NBA, with four players getting ejected in the Heat-Pelicans clash. Another scuffle occurred in the Warriors-Hornets game involving players like Lester Quinones and Grant Williams.

Following the game, James had nothing but high praise for Wembanyama. “He doesn’t have a ceiling,” James said. “He can do whatever he wants to do with his career. It seems like he enjoys the game. Butler said he would not be surprised if some of the intensity from Friday’s game carries over to the clubs’ next meeting in Miami on March 22. “We’ll beat them the next time, too,” Butler said after the game. “We’re just a better team. “Our team is so ready for anything that anybody’s thrown at us,” Butler added. “We’re so together, playing some incredible basketball. Of course, Trump recently revealed the $399 pair of “Never Surrender” gold high tops,  and let’s just say the reaction was mixed. Louis Williams — who played 17 seasons in the NBA before retiring in 2023 — disagrees, telling us it’s a misguided move if it was in fact Trump’s plan to pick up votes. “If that’s your intention, I think you’re in the wrong place and I think you’re a little misled on thinking how intelligent we are to see this coming a mile away,” Williams said on Friday.
