LeBron James thinks he could have been great at lacrosse too

0

James admitted as much in a recent video shared by the Uninterrupted, noting that with the way Lacrosse is played, his physical tools and skills are just perfect for the sport. “If I wasn’t the GOAT in basketball, what other sport I would be the GOAT in? Lacrosse. And I’d be a beast out on the field. It’s fast, it’s physical, I got pretty good accuracy when it comes to things,” James shared.

LeBron James has said on multiple occasions that he prefers to play his usual minutes load any time he steps on the floor. Now, it seems as though he’s finally headed for a reduction. pic.twitter.com/ErgGKFsicm10:43 PM

LeBron acknowledged the plan of keeping his minutes down a bit from what we’ve seen in the past (29 tonight, closer to 35 last year). Obviously, he wants to be on the floor, and we’ll see how that evolves in Year 21.

A bit of a rough night for the Lakers, but things weren’t all bad in the loss to the Nuggets. LeBron, Reaves and Prince all had moments. Curious to see how they bounce back on Thursday against the Suns. More worried about the offense than the defense at this point. – 10:28 PM
Jovan Buha @jovanbuha
Darvin Ham on if LeBron James’ 29 minutes will be a trend this season: “We’ll see. In all likelihood, yes.”
Ham added that it could build from that number depending on how James feels and what the team’s training staff decides. – 10:04 PM

Some observations from the loss…
-Your not winning games giving up that many points (119)
-AD not scoring in the 2nd half makes no sense
-Needed more from Rui, D’Lo & Reaves (Not efficient)
-Lebron & Prince were excellent – 9:58 PM

Lakers lose in Denver, 119-107, on opening night. LeBron 21p 8r 5a in 29 mins; AD 17p on 6-of-17 (0 pts in 2nd half) 8r 4a 2b; Prince 18p on 4-of-6 from 3; Reaves 14p 8r 4a 2s; D-Lo 11p 7a. LAL shot 10-for-29 from 3; Den 14-for-34 from deep – 9:57 PM

LeBron James played 29:00 in tonight’s loss to Denver.
Last season, he played fewer than 29 minutes only once: on Feb. 23 against the Warriors, when he played 26:19.
Notably, he was listed as day-to-day before that game due to a hand injury suffered at All-Star. – 9:53 PM

Final: Nuggets 119, Lakers 107
LA falls short on Denver’s ring night. The Nuggets have beaten the Lakers six straight games. LeBron had 21 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. AD had 17 points, 8 rebounds and 2 blocks. The Lakers start the season 0-1.
Up next: vs. PHX on Thursday. – 9:53 PM

Ham took LeBron off the floor with the Lakers down 4, and the Nuggets promptly go on a 7-0 run. The story of tonight is Denver obliterating the Lakers whenever LeBron has taken a rest – 9:32 PM

LeBron will finish below his typical 35 minutes from last season, including 35 in last season’s opener.
He’s played 24 minutes with 8 to play, and may get another rest here in Year 21.

Third quarter: Nuggets 87, Lakers 80
A couple of big 3s from DLo in that quarter. AD has 17 points. LeBron has 12. They only combined for two points in the third; LA needs to put both of them in better positions offensively. Taurean Prince (15 points) has been awesome tonight. – 9:19 PM

Halftime: Nuggets 63, Lakers 54
LA responded well to close the half w/ AD on the bench. AD has 17 points. LeBron has 10 — all at the rim. DLo’s shooting struggles against DEN have continued (2-7 FGs), but he has 5 assists. Darvin Ham is using a 10-man rotation. Jokic has 19 & 9. – 8:37 PM
Mike Trudell @LakersReporter
With Davis sitting, the Lakers managed a 6-0 run to close the half, trimming Denver’s lead to 63-54, as Hachimura, LeBron and Russell all scored at the rim in transition.
LeBron reached 10 points with 5 boards and 2 dimes. Reaves added 6 points with 7 boards and 2 dimes. – 8:34 PM
Mike Trudell @LakersReporter
Hachimura is 0 for 4, Russell 1 for 6, Reaves 2 for 6 and Vincent 0 for 1. Not much help offensively for LeBron (4 for 8) or Davis (6 for 11), aside from Prince (3 for 5 with 2 3’s). – 8:31 PM

More on this storyline

LeBron James opened up his 21st season by being limited to 29 minutes in the Los Angeles Lakers’ 119-107 loss to the Denver Nuggets on Tuesday. Lakers coach Darvin Ham said the tapered workload for the 38-year-old superstar is part of the team’s plan moving forward. “It’s easy with him to get caught up in the emotion of the game and you tend to forget you want to play these long stretches, but in order for him to be as effective as possible, we have to be mindful of the minute output and how long his stretches are,” Ham said. -via ESPN / October 25, 2023
When asked if he would have to adjust his approach with less playing time night to night, James made it clear that he was confident in his ability to impact the game with the added rest built in. “Besides the fact that we didn’t win,” James said, “I think for me, my performance and what I did individually in the time that I was out there, I think I was productive. I think so. I mean, I was a plus-7 for the game. No turnovers. I like the no turnovers more than anything.” -via ESPN / October 25, 2023
