I am officially post-football.
I still care quite a lot and follow what's happening at Blues, but the wider game now passes me by. It's just something I stick on TV when I'm too bored or idle to do anything else.
As a result I'm sat here watching an England side which includes players I've never even heard of like Winks, Maguire and some bloke whose name begins with K (I think).
If you'd told me at the age of 12 that one day I'd be like this I'd have suggested you should be sectioned.
Yes, same here - I don't have an interest in the wider game. Perhaps it's an age thing, perhaps it's because it's more sanitised, soulless and slick now, I don't know. I cried in 1970 when we lost to West Germany, I mourned for days after we didn't qualify in '74, I got drunk on Gold Label and fell over in the park in 1990 after we lost on penalties to them, I was devastated when we went out in '98, and if I'd have ever thought that I wouldn't care, I wouldn't have believed myself. Or something like that. A shame, in a way.
