Aged between 10-14, I lived in the area (Leigh and Bolton, both about 10 miles from Old Trafford) and used to get the bus with a mate all over the place - Old Trafford, Maine road, Bury, Oldham, Rochdale, Burnley, Blackburn, etc. Great times - I used to get to Old Trafford quite a bit and had the privilege of seeing Charlton, Law, Best, Kidd, etc, although after about 1971-ish, they were on the downward slope. It was still a great experience watching them play - they were real heroes to the fans.
