Us older uns remember them qualifying for the Argentina World Cup in 78 when England failed.
They were arrogant and obnoxious at the time. They even took a player called Derek Johnstone with his leg in plaster claiming that he'd be ready for the quarter final(!). Peru tore them a new one in the first game. Then had Willie Johnston testing positive for a banned substance.
We didn't laugh at this terrible misfortune at all, did we......?
