My Old Man (RIP, brown bread, goner etc) (75 replies)

Passed away this morning after a short battle with cancer after struggling for years with mental health issues. Had a tough life tbh, glad he’s at peace. He kept right on, fought to the end whilst tired and weary and has hopefully reached an happier abode, blah blah blah :D

A few on here already know but some others don’t.
We’ve had our ups and downs over the years and have had loads of family issues recently, culminating in me and the missus doing almost everything for him for 3 and half years since he had a psychotic breakdown, and my 2 brothers and sister walking away from him although one brother has been around for the last 3 months and it has helped me and my Dad.
I’m sad and angry though that all his kids weren’t there for him. The bastards.

The point I’m putting it on here though is the one constant between me and my old man apart from the father/son link has been the love of Blues. Never faded. He took me and I followed, as has my lad with me. I’m actually delighted that the last time he was and enjoyed a day out with us was Fathers Day at Blues. Loved the meal and stadium tour after and was whizzing round the place, at one point we thought he was going to get changed and have a kick about on the pitch :D

Anyway after a sad few weeks I hope he gets back to his old self upstairs in the sky and the mad bugger causes chaos at Will.
