Huddersfield Train (2 replies)

Small Heath Alliance

Just booked my tickets for Huddersfield, but has any one found any cheap train tickets? I've been the last couple of times going via Manchester, but coming up nearly £50 altogether this time, which is much more than I paid before.

Thank you SHA

Yeah looked at that via train split but seems quite a trek as it's an an hour 20 mins from Sheffield, whereas only 30 mins from Manchester.

The Championships Best player (26 replies)

Who is it in your opinion?
Any position, any player, from any Club, and your estimate of what they'd cost based on ability and age only (length of contract remaining doesn't matter) and reason for picking them...

Some good shouts on this thread, the one player not mentioned who I believe is one of the best players in the division is Helder Costa.

Apparently he's had some struggles for Leeds so far this season but I think he is very good overall.

Off

Shoulder injury apparently ???? not the fact the tickets have stretched to Groupon

Hearn or Warren next time Nige methinks

Re: Does anyone believe?

100% this

If we have any plans of promotion camp needs to be replaced ASAP - nothing against him but simple fact is he will cost us more points than a lot of other keepers around

It will be terrific- gutted I can’t go : (
I went to uni in Cardiff- it’s a brilliant city!!!

Excellent pricing from Cardiff, too- well done to them!

May be controversial but I'd chuck Demarai Gray on that list too. Simply hasn't progressed at all since he left us and has been a bench warmer for Leicester for several years now.

And I don't buy the fact that hes a title winner, he barely played

He received a Premier League winners medal, so it's not a subjective statement really.
He may officially be a title winner I get that but he certainly wont be remembered by Leicester fans as a title winner. Читать дальше...

At first - "live" - I though their goal was offside, but having seen the highlights - Roberts just played him on. So that was fair enough.

Moving back to Birmingham (14 replies)

Small Heath Alliance

I was born and raised in Selly Oak. Went to Shenley. Left for Uni when I was 18 and have never returned. I live in Cotswolds.

My mom has a place in Bournville

When she dies ( hopefully a good few years away ! ) I am thinking about moving back to live in Birmingham

I kind of have a hankering to come home to have the football, cricket, rugby and shops close to hand.

Am I mad?

Anyone else done this? What do your think

Re: Moving back to Birmingham

I had 9 years in Weston covering South Wales, Devon and Cornwall with work, the South West is beautiful but I longed for brum, been back 3 years, got my season ticket in the GML and even living in B44 is tolerable. With the Commonwealth games coming my house will increase in value and when dear old mom goes I will have the option to move across to Hall Green. I love the city and intend to see out my time here, hopefully witnessing a Blues FA Cup win.

Getting old

Small Heath Alliance

Eight years ago, on 13 August 2011, I went to a meeting of Birmingham City fans to discuss setting up a supporters trust. Daniel Ivery had suggested on his blog that might be a better way to react to the clubs problems than waving a slogan on a bedsheet. I got involved with the steering [...]

It was going to be an epic day whatever happened with the World Cup semi-final, the mighty lads playing the Hatters and an old school reunion in the evening. I had been agonising about how to play things all week. I could have stayed and watched the semi at home Read More

Insurance-type question (5 replies)

Small Heath Alliance

To try to save a my old dad a few quid, who was moving house on Friday, I hired a van. I live up a narrow lane and clipped a commercial wheelie bin that was parked at the entrance to the lane, making it two or three feet narrower than it should be.

Hoping it would only be a scuff that was easily polished out, I was horrified to find a crease across two panels. In my haste, I hadn't taken out any extra insurance so was hit with a £750 bill. Which was fair enough.

Coincidentally... Читать дальше...

You hit something stationary in the road, I personally don't see how it could be the takeaways fault.

Imagine the bin was a parked car, whos fault would that be?

Re: sky highlights

Small Heath Alliance

There wete plenty who used to give the players stick way back when. I remember Phylis Summerhill for example.

I can guarantee if that had ended in a draw there would have been more moaning. In the end it’s about results. Though I have to say a big thankf you to the chap who linked the extended highlights, because we look like a bright, switched on, passing and attacking side and I haven’t been able to say that about Blues that often. Let’s hope it isn’t a streak.
