One trick pony.

It ain’t a bad trick he’s got.
Needs a break. Will be a good addition for some Club like Fulham if they don’t go up[/quote

Yeah let’s see how he gets on.

People were saying he should have had a top 6 job not that long ago.

Tonight’s boxing.

Steve Finnan.
Wasted at right mid for us

I remember seeing him play a game. I *think* it was away at Watford in the FA Cup but I don’t have the Matthews book to hand so will wait for Spike to confirm. But anyway I thought then he had a chance from the way he used to swivel his hips to beat people. Obviously didn’t think he’d have such a good career though.

I’ve followed Sam’s career since the Prizefighter days, I know some of his relatives and he gets a great following in Kings Heath.

Tonight has war written all over it, Cheeseman loves to come forward and have it, Sam as we know will stand and trade with anyone. I think Sam stops him for the first time.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again but the way he fights puts me in mind of Antonio Margarito.

Super Hans

He was good in way more games than the Boro one too.

First home game against Bristol he was the best player on the pitch, such a shame really.

PLYMOUTH EARLY 70’s (10 replies)

Small Heath Alliance

I have a vague recollection of my dad taking me to Home Park, home of Plymouth Argyle, to see Blues play during a summer in the early 1970’s. We were on holiday somewhere nearby and think it must have been a pre season friendly. The only thing I recall clearly is standing behind the goal and loads of Blues fans running into that area from a stand on the touchline. Just curious if anyone else on here went and can confirm when it was and if it was pre season? Cheers.

Retiring the long-throw fiasco (18 replies)

Small Heath Alliance

Can we bin the fruitless long throws which often became assists for the opposition to break quickly upon us with a ponderous centre half struggling to get back to carry out his main job of defending immediately before conceding yet another soft goal ?

Surely Karankaman has a more sophisticated plan than a number of his predecessors ......

Here's a novel suggestion which hasn't been seen at St Andrews or on our travels for years and years.
When it's a throw in to us we... Читать дальше...

Exactly what I'm getting at - doing exactly the same thing you've done for the last 10 games is really going to fool defences. It's basic stuff that's the worrying thing (was the worrying thing). Persevering with a long thrown that just didn't work was really poor from Pep. If you can keep defenders guessing they can't be as comfortable.

Re: Shef wed

On a purely personal note, I hope Derby do get done, work that way and to a man the Derby fans at work don't think they'll get done because they reckon that Mel Morris is so clever he'll tie the EFL up in knots. They really are an arrogant bunch of fans, quite similar to other fans we know.

Not a bad start to the Bob Willis Trophy, it would be fitting to lift that one.

Thought I’d throw this out to the masses!!! We’re on our way to Exeter in a week or so and can’t check in to our hotel until late afternoon, so any ideas on where we could go with a 3 year old beforehand? Travelling from Brum and all suggestions appreciated.

Genuinely overheard on a Dublin tram as it was going past an area called The Generator (sort of a hipsteryfied area) - Guy to his daughter - "Your uncle used to live up there, got his house for nothing he did, when they started to do that place up he sold it for 10 times what he paid, made a fortune" - errrmm 10 x 0 = 0......I wasn't the only one on the tram that smiled at that.

Re: BCFC: Welcome Aitor Karanka

Good article that, patience and Dong sticking to what I'm sure he's promised will be key.

If that happens, this feels alot like the right manager, at the right time. I'm fecking buzzing tbh ????????

Re: Dean

Small Heath Alliance

Clean slate for everyone.

Regardless of what we think of players, it's unfair to not let Karanka run the rule over them.

At this level I think most defenders have mistakes in them, but Dean and Roberts seem to have more than most.

It's frustrating with Dean because he hit a spell (possibly under Monk) where he looked quite good. He was comfortable taking the ball, he often found another Blue shirt with his distribution and his good performances outweighed his bad. Читать дальше...
