That Post-World Cup Run (12 replies)

Small Heath Alliance

Looking at the teams we played - very many of them seem to have hit form around that period as a consolation.

Take the game against us as the middle point of 5 game form.

Burnley - 5W
Hull - 2W, 3D
Boro - 4W, 1L
Bristol - 2W, 3D
Preston - 2W, 3L
Swansea - 2W, 1D, 2L (WE WON)
West Brom - 1W, 1D , 3L (WE WON)
Cardiff - 2W, 3L
Hudds - 1W, 4L (new manager)
Norwich - 4W, 1D
Luton - 2W, 2D, 1L

Especially those first 4 games... Читать дальше...

League one Roberts was injured for the majority of that run.

Our good run of form coincides nicely with moving to a back 4 consistently with Roberts/Long as the two centre backs.

I beg we sign Long for a couple more seasons.

Haven't got a favourite pud!!

Favourite pub is The Queens Head in Stoke Prior, good food, good beer, outdoor tables overlooking the Birmingham Worcester canal.
Great on a Sunday afternoon in the summer

Being an old codger, I prefer a quiet pub, so that takes most Wetherspoons out of the equation. When I’m out for a few pints, I sit round a table with a few mates, drink my pint and have a chat and a laugh. So long as there isn’t a threatening atmosphere and the beer is kept well and I’m not waiting at the bar too long, any pub will do.

The Duke in Sutton is the type of pub that fits the bill, but I do sometimes like a really well kept/ preserved pub and, for me the Princess Louise in Holburn, London is probably my favourite.

He's great. Love how he's called out slow play this week too.

FA wins appeal and he gets football's longest ever ban for discrimination.

Not generally a fan of puddings, but Mrs Bluewire made a damn fine rice pud tonight. And I got first dibs on the skin. What's everyone else's top pud?

My moms lemon meringue pie
The thickest meringue and really tart thick lemon layer
Took a long time to make but was gone in seconds

Mathematically safe (15 replies)

Thanks to Luton's late equaliser against Reading tonight, Blues are mathematically safe from relegation for another year, thus confounding just about every single football pundit, who ALL had us to go down.

Well done John Eustace - an incredible job given the circumstances.

Rasputin

I did think that there was a highly unlikely situation where we heavily lose the last three games and Huddersfield (I think) heavily win thier last three and overtake us on goal difference, but maybe i got that wrong.

Doesn't matter anyway.

Well done Eustace I think.

Sold out on the blues page. Anyone know what are allocation was? And if we might get a few more on sale. Late to the party ffs but at this rate might end up in the Cov end with my mate.

Re: Cov away

4400 allocation with them going for the play offs and it being a localish derby I can't see us getting any more.
